Dr. Dohner was still making house calls until the State actually shut his office down fall of 2013. He was 88 at the time. He still got up every morning made his rounds at the hospital then went to his office and stayed until 5-6 pm and went back to the hospital then to the nursing homes in town. You could not make a appointment to see him, it was first come, first serve. No computer, he still had file cards. And if the receptionist had to put you on hold and needed to ask him a question, she would set the receiver down and get up and go back to the examining room nock on the door and ask him; come back to the desk and pick up the receiver and complete the conversation. Yes, it was still a dial phone. Oh and by the way..... He was still charging $5 an office call when they closed his office in 2013!
