A friend of mine just moved to the Bay Area and wants to check out Bike Party this Friday night. However, she doesn't have a bike yet. Tips for a good place to get a rental/loaner since she can't buy yet? She is 5'7" and lives in Berkeley.

Bike shop recommendations? I just moved to town about 2 months ago and seeing as how there are no hills here, I think I'm in the market for a single speed,(not a fixed gear) does anyone have any tips on any bike shops I should check out?

You can get some decent new single speeds at [Manifesto Bikes](http://www.wearemanifesto.com). [Homespun Bikes](http://www.homespunbikes.com) is an awesome shop. They're a bike shop and city garden shop. They also host interesting workshops. If you're into learning how to fix your own bike or want to get used bikes and bike parts, there are a number of DIY bike coops in Oakland. [Spokeland](http://spokeland.org) in North Oakland [The Bikery] (http://thebikery.weebly.com) in East Oakland EDIT: Formatting
