Hello. My beautiful, precious six year old brindle girl has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the radial joint/wrist. She has survived an autoimmune/neurologic disease that's almost unheard of in bullmastiffs, and medication she is on may make it tough to do conventional cancer treatments. My vet wants us to consider all options before making a decision. Without treatment we have weeks at best. With amputation and chemo we may buy a year, but I am not sure she is a good candidate for amputation. I am curious as to what others have done faced with this situation....has anyone gone the amputation/chemo route? Anyone done the metronomic protocol using oral chemo/pain meds/antibiotics? (I think that's the combo). We x-rayed her organs - all clear. No fracture in the bone - my vet says it's pretty early. We lost our boy at seven last year to a cancer of unknown origin, so this is particularly devastating. At the end of the day, I know it's a personal decision - and her comfort is key. This was unexpected and has caught me off guard. For now she doesn't know she is sick. She is limping a little, but she is happy and greedy as ever. Also - anyone have a great source for getting deramaxx? We use KV vet supply for her cyclosporine but they are out of stock on Deramaxx.....my vet is awesome about faxing RX's to whereever I can get a good price. Thanks in advance.....Jan and Rhoda-Bug
