Hello. My beautiful, precious six year old brindle girl has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the radial joint/wrist. She has survived an autoimmune/neurologic ...

Sorry to hear this. I had a similar situation with my young boy, only my hubby was in Iraq. We opted for euthanasia because it was very sudden & aggressive & hubby did not want to put him thru chemo...not to mention the cost. In the end...we had done the right thing. Be at peace with your decision & know that you chose the right one. God Bless.

My sister's pointer had osteo, and her treatment was to have her rear leg amputated. She was fine after the surgery, but it sadly bought her only a few months. There is a bullmastiff owner on facebook whose dog had a front leg amputated. I am sure he would be happy to share his experience with you. His FB name is Pupule Bullie Boy BullNutz. His beloved boy had a wheelchair and got around quite well.

I really wish you the best in whatever decision you make....just in case - there is a FB site GingerLead Dog Support and Rehab Harness that is out of this world should you need it....it is a sling that will help you help your dog to walk while recovering....There is also a company called Springtime that has natural supplements for humans, horses and dogs....while they don't have deramaxx - we have used them for years for Fresh Factors...(www.springtimeinc.com or 800-521-3212)....they're worth checking into....meantime, you're in our prayers.
My little Loki bear kept yelping occasionally when I touched his leg and sometimes just randomly and he will limp for a bit and then he's fine. I took him to the vet...

Yes, as others have said, luxating patella is very common in small breeds, Tori. Camille doesn't have this problem, but I still have some concerns, as she's *definitely* fine boned. I, recently, got a new bed and it's quite high. I've thought about put ting a ramp by the bed, but... truthfully question whether she'd use it. She takes these 'flying leaps' off the bed, and if anything, it would probably be better to have a think sheet of foam (any kind of cushioning) to absorb the impact. ~ Knowing Camille shows no signs of problems with luxating patellas, I haven't started to do any serious shopping.

One of my paps has this in both back legs. I have been trying to avoid the surgery knowing that it would be twice the pain for him. I started giving him this supplement about a year ago and he now bounces around like a bunny. Just a thought. Best of luck to you. smile emoticon http://www.springtimeinc.com/.../advanced-hip-and-joint...
