The Little Guild
About us
The Little Guild, founded in 1960 by Muriel Alvord Ward and Eleanora Kleinschmidt, is the only limited intake shelter in Northwest Connecticut. The current 3,000-square-foot facility accommodates 16 dogs and 25 cats comfortably at any time.

The Little Guild gives every animal in our care the support they need to find a loving home. However, because we sometimes rescue animals in dire conditions, animals do pass away or are humanely euthanized in our care to end suffering.
