Ok... need opinions please. I had an old root canal in a molar that got infected a couple of months ago. Went to an orthodontic surgeon who re-drilled it, put disinfectant in it, then filled it a couple of weeks later. The dentist was brutal (not that it was an easy job, but still...) and drilling put me in some incredible pain for many days - much worse than the actual toothache. In the end it cost me out of pocket $1400 (that's WITH insurance). And now the tooth is hurting the same way again. The dentist is being compassionate and wants to work on it, but I can't afford that kind of bill again. What are my options? Here are the ones I see:
1. Wait and see if it goes away.
2. Pull the tooth (don't know if that's a good idea with a molar that's second from the rear). I'm sure the crown/false tooth would cost a small fortune.
3. Try to work with the dentist to get him to fix it and let him brutalize me again.
Looking for hope and helpful suggestions. Anybody?
