  Ok... need opinions please. I had an old root canal in a molar that got infected a couple of months ago. Went to an orthodontic surgeon who re-drilled it, put disinfectant in it, then filled it a couple of weeks later. The dentist was brutal (not that it was an easy job, but still...) and drilling put me in some incredible pain for many days - much worse than the actual toothache. In the end it cost me out of pocket $1400 (that's WITH insurance). And now the tooth is hurting the same way again. The dentist is being compassionate and wants to work on it, but I can't afford that kind of bill again. What are my options? Here are the ones I see: 1. Wait and see if it goes away. 2. Pull the tooth (don't know if that's a good idea with a molar that's second from the rear). I'm sure the crown/false tooth would cost a small fortune. 3. Try to work with the dentist to get him to fix it and let him brutalize me again. Looking for hope and helpful suggestions. Anybody?

  If he won't fix it (at no cost) call Dr. Daren Evans (North Austin). He has done my crowns and a root canal...and I am terrified of the dentist...he is remarkable. 512-918-1111
