Rodney was nice enough on phone & agreed to go out to our rental home, diagnose issue & then CALL me once knew what the problem was. Instead, he was at house less than 15 minutes in total and never called for approval to do work. While there, tenant was with Rodney most of the time. The tenant left his side for just a few minutes to go in the home, during which Rodney claimed to have found AND fixed problem?? He was already packing up his car to leave when she returned after a 4 minute absence? Rodney never called with diagnosis, nor for approval to repair. AFTER repair was completed, he sent text asking for address to send the bill. I asked what was done, total and why he had not called with diagnosis as he stated he would. At that time, Rodney informed me only calls when repairs over $500. Maybe he should have said that, rather than telling me would call with diagnosis?? I would have insisted he called no matter what total of repair was, as we were contemplating replacing the entire unit. I was uncomfortable with how repair was handled. Without saying anything to tenant, she too brought up how uncomfortable she was working with Rodney...described him as "shady". Within a day of repair, I visited rental home, opened up A/C unit to see if part was even replaced. What I found was a capacitor in A/C unit dated 2016 & tagged "USED". RETAIL Cost for a Turbo 200 capacitor is $40-$50 new...we were charged $163 for this used one (plus $85 service call). I would NOT recommend this HVAC company nor Rodney Harris.
A/C unit is dead. Hopefully it just needs some TLC but who do I call who will be honest with me and actually try to fix it if it can be fixed? Can anyone recommend a good HVAC company in or around Noblesville?

Thank you all for your recommendations. +1 for social media and trusted friends helping to find a good repair service. FYI: Per my neighbor's recommendation, I called Rod Harris at Harris Heating & AC. Down to earth guy and totally honest. Replaced the motor capacitor (~$200 w/labor) and it's all back! He did tell me I'm on borrowed time with the age of the whole unit but he said I may get a little more time with the new capacitor. Said most other big HVAC companies would call it condemned, blaming a blown compressor and tell the owner they won't do anything but replace it with a new unit (~$3 k). Then they'd also say that they'd recommend replacing the furnace (another ~$3 k) since it probably wouldn't be "compatible" with the new AC unity. That too wouldn't be true in some cases. HIGHLY recommend Rod Harris to anyone needing an honest, down-to-earth HVAC professional. His info: Rod Harris, Owner of Harris Heating & Air Conditioning. 106 Fox Circle Noblesville IN 46060. Office: 317-776-2905 Cell: 317-431-7993.
