  You can try OV-fiets, which requires you to get a 10 euro (annual) subscription: http://www.ov-fiets.nl/ (I think it is possible to add the subscription to an anoynmous or personal chipcard.) Then once the subscription is added (happens instantly when you do it online), you go to rent the bikes at Leiden Centraal, or any other station that rents out bikes. Renting a bike is 2.50 euros a day.
