  Since Barbara just did a thread to recognize the mass rescue family associated with this group, I have a friend that needs some help. Her dog has had a horrible cough. She thought it was kennel cough but she has been to two vets and they say it's not kennel cough and send her on her way. Her pup is now coughing up blood. Can you guys give some good local vet recommendations? My vet is Sierra Vet Hospital but I know we have a lot of great talent in the area.

  In Carson or Reno? My vets at http://www.northhillsvet.net/ have done a pretty good job over the last couple years. Dx a parasite my two got at the dog park and treated right away, both had blood in stool. Dx foxtail near an eardrum and did a fast surgery before it could cause damage and he healed perfectly. Fixed a foster dog we had and did a great job (unlike the other foster dog you saw), dx food allergies in our one dog and was spot on. We have used Dr. Adam Gonzalez and Dr. Megan Plateman there. Megan chats longer if you have a lot of questions. Adam is nice as well, just faster. They have an on site lab for quick tests which many vets don't here. They will also send out to a larger lab for confirmations or double check for a false negative.
