  I would love to hear any recommendations for a clinical psychologist to work with a 4 year old with ADHD (and parents) to provide behavioral management strategies & early intervention please. The developmental paediatrician has instructed that this path be the first taken but finding a psych who specializes in treatment & not just assessment has turned out to be tricky. Would really like personal experiences also. Thanks very much.

  There is a "Canberra and Queanbeyan ADHD support group" http://addact.org.au/ They have always been very helpful with me. They might have suggestions for you. When I was looking for a psychologist to help my 8 yo daughter (and me) with ADHD, I remember that I found quite a few psychologists in Canberra who have some kind of ADHD specialisations. I have a list of them somewhere, tell me if you want it... Anyway, we eventually chose a psychologist with no ADHD background but excellent reviews from mums here.

  Any mums out there that have been through the same? ------- My partner and I have been together for a few years now and have a 1 year old. my partner has always had ADHD but has not been on medication since he was about 18/19. He gets angry very easily and sulks a lot over the smallest things which really bugs me. In the last week he has sworn at our son twice saying some mean things. I want him to go see someone so he can deal with his anger problem before it gets worse and I walk out on him. I love him to bits but I just can't handle the moods he gets in over things that aren't worth it. Are there any mums out there that have been through the same? Do I just go to a GP and get a referral for profeasional help? TIA

  There is a Canberra ADHD support group: http://www.addact.org.au/ they can refer him to specialists in Sydney for treatment (there are no psychiatrists that take on adult ADHD in Canberra :( ) All the best!
