About us
Who we are and what we do!
ASK is a confidential FREE text helpline service for young people aged 14-25 years living in County Durham.
Our aim is to:
A. To reach the most vulnerable young people and offer them a support service where they can receive accurate and up to date information, using a medium that is appealing to them.
B. Raise awareness of our service with organisations working with children/ young people and their families.
We feel the provision of a friendly service offering a listening ear and non judgmental support can be a much needed life line; especially to those who feel isolated and unable to talk to anyone around the most sensitive issues. We provide out of ours support, at a time where young people often need and are able to talk.
All staff working on the helpline are appropriately qualified youth work staff, with a wide range of specialised training around youth issues.
