I am getting married in October. If you know someone who does photos/hair/makeup/band/DJ/etc. post inside. I am still looking for more people.

Congrats on your upcoming marriage!!! I had friends who got married who had Dexter Davis photography do their photos: http://dexphotos.com/# The photos came out absolutely stunning. As far as cakes, there's this place: http://www.coccadotts.com/ Great cakes, beautiful work. For hair, contact Amy at Fantastic Sam's in Latham Farms- she's really good- or ask Erin at Stiletto salon. Stiletto will be FAR more expensive, but may be able to arrange for your makeup to be done too. Good luck!

Hey! I don't know if you're still looking, but Rebecca Belle Photography are great. She's my wife, and she's definitely willing to travel to the Albany area. We go there often. Check out her site: http://www.rebeccabelle.com
Time to begin brainstorming....Do you or anyone you know work at a hotel, banquet hall, does catering, photography, entertainment? (DJ, cover band, children's...

What about this place? No idea if they have availability but it looks like a great place. http://thecitybeerhall.com/private-parties/
Sean M. replied:
There are a few places downtown but they are really event venues like 90 stateevents.com if we can raise the money to do something like that. It may be nice for out-of-towners to see what's changed in Albany.
Lorinda T. replied:
Absolutely Aileen Cummings Harbour! Great idea!! As far as cost is concerned, I think once we begin pricing venues, food etc we'll be able to get a better idea. If we're going to do a weekend, we'll have rates for both. Some may only be able to participate for the day. $25-$50 is reasonable for a days worth of activities, but a weekend will be around $100. Anyone willing to spearhead fundraisers? That will be a great way to cut costs.
Melissa M. replied:
Lorinda Thomas, great points. Do you think we could work with AHS' PTA and piggyback on some of their fundraisers or do you think this would be an epic fail?
Carly R. replied:
Previous staff, yes. I taught at Albany High for 9 years in the math department (with Mrs. Bulson!) and Rebecca Karp Bustelos currently teaches in the district.

I had gotten a photographer recommendation for Paul Saunders, who offers by-the-hour services (less expensive). I got my dress from A Love Story Bridal in Troy. In addition to modern designer dresses, they also have a whole section of consignment gowns. Some are really good deals! What venue did you choose?

Congratulations! I used [Sarah Smith Photography](http://www.sarahsmithphotography.com/weddings/blog/), haven't gotten final photos back but she's an amazing fine arts photographer so I would imagine they'll be good. I got [my dress](http://imgur.com/a/23oYr) at Fancy Schmancy in Latham - it's all off the rack, many items are one of a kind. I saw a lot of beautiful vintage-y gowns there. For catering we used Dinosaur BBQ, which might be a bit saucy and casual for what you're going for. My day-of coordinator was Kristin Miller/Day of Joy. She was the REAL MVP of our wedding and was extremely easy and pleasant to work with. She's from Vermont and charges $75/hour. If you want, I can PM you her contact info!

Aaah! So exciting! Venue being booked is the most important and difficult part of the planning so rest easy that you got that out of the way :) wish I knew of vendors in Albany to recommend! But I'm sure you'll be able to pull it all together for a beautiful day with time and help from family and friends! :)
dead_emma replied:
Absolutely! We are narrowing down our options, so I think a lot of decisions will fall into place pretty quickly
