Does anyone in Albany have recommendations for a good physical therapist? Any information would be appreciated.
Lisa F. replied:
I know someone in Schenectady - about 20 minute drive from campus. Not sure if that's too far for you. She is my best friend's aunt, and I have also personally used her as a PT. She's great! http://sandrawellspt.com/
who do you use for physical therapy? I need someone that takes CDPHP. Def need someone that works with athletes and takes insurance!! Thanks so much!
Miriam H. replied:
When I needed physical therapy, I went to Albany Medical Center's group at 618 Central Ave. They take CDPHP and I was happy with their care.
Alex C. replied:
Dependant on where you live or how far you are willing to travel there are many qualified PTs that specialize in the treatment of the injured runner. My suggestion is to pick a therapist that not only understands your ITB issues, how to treat them and get you back to running. But also one that practices what they preach; understands the psychology of a runners mind; and can incoorporate your goals into the treatment plan. Physical Therapy Associates of Schenectady, PC has a few therapists that would fit what you are looking for (Dennis Judd, PT, Thomas Houghtalen, PT, DPT, MTC and Alex Chlopecki, MS, PT)
Helen P. replied:
I really like Repsher Associates on Everett Road.
Dave G. replied:
I'd suggest Dennis Judd at Physical Therapy Asosciates of Schenectady (at their Colonie office). He spoke at a Tri Seminar held at Revolutionary Velo-Watts last year, discussed in detail handling issues facing runners. Not sure about the CDPHP part.
Helene M. replied:
Brett Sears at Capital Region Physical Therapy New Scotland Slingerlands. Have used him on and off for years. He is excellent.
Hi friends, can anybody recommend to me a good physical therapist in the Albany/Schenectady and maybe even the Saratoga area? I have a referral from my Dr. but the place...

I have had good success at Thomas Nicola Physical Therapy. It's pretty much across the street from Collin's Circle.
