Looking for vet recommendations in Moon, Hopewell, or Beaver.
It would be a plus if this vet has a soft spot for pit bulls, but I'll take any recommendations.
Thanks...

My wife loves Moon Vet on Brodhead. For the Yorkie.

Brodhead Animal Clinic in Center Twp...I take my pitty there!! The vet (Dr. Van Way) owns a pit bull and he hangs out at the office all day:) She's a wonderful vet. My whole family has taken our dogs there for years.
Does anyone know a local, good Vet that has reasonable prices or even a first time visit free office charge?
Kristie C. replied:
Bradys run...it's just a little far but so worth it. Wonderful vets, they don't nickel and dime, and they are reasonably priced. They do offer first visit free with a newly adopted animal. Not sure about new patient in general although I don't think so. We've been going there for 9 years. Dr Kendrew is our favorite although the others are great too. Here in hopewell, 5 points is nice and we have had to use them in the past for emergency visits. Their care is good and doctors are nice but they are very expensive.

I like Brodhead animal hospital. Office visit starts at office only 42 dollars. They go over everything they want to do or think you should do in depth on a treatment plan before you're charged for anything more. So you know and can make decisions about costs. Dr Van way is awesome and really listens and does tech only visits for little things where you don't pay for an office visit just for the service. For example like an ear cleaning or nail clip is only 15 dollars and you can get in and out fast. Also when my dog needed antibiotic they wrote me a paper script I could take and fill more affordably at Walmart and giant Eagle than at vet Cost. They understand and try to help.

We have one 15 year old dog and two cats, 5 months and 2 years that we bring there now. We had three other dogs over the years that have all gotten old and passed away since moving here, and they have always taken such great care of them. My one dog lived till she was almost 16 and I had a Lab that passed away last year at the age of 13. Our Huskey had some minor health issues and she passed away at the age of 10, rather unexpectedly. We don't know exactly what happened but she wound up being paralyzed and we suspect it could have been caused by a seizure we didn't see. She was mildly epileptic. Anyway, we knew she had to be put down as she was in so much pain and not herself. Dr. Kendrew and his staff are so sensitive to the needs of their families. We like to bring our animals home to bury them. They didn't make my husband carry her in, but instead we made sure she was comfortable in our car with her blankets and comfort items and they came out to the car. It wasn't a drive by kind of thing like it sounds like. They just knew she couldn't move, was over 100 pounds, and it was easier on her and on us to keep her comfortable.

Animal Wellness Centre... Dr. Francine Petro. You will love her.

I have always been with Dr Evan's (now retired) so Brady's Run Vet Clinic has been right there for me following right in place / 6 girls in the past and 2 right now being treated by the vets so take it from there- I've heard good things about Dr Petro too so you'll need to make the call-good luck

We use Five Points Veterinary. They are open on weekends too. They may seem a bit expensive, but they are gentle, tender and compassionate with our elderly cat and our chihuahua.

My vet is retiring. Looking for recommendations for a vet in beaver county or Sewickley.
Mary S. replied:
I have the same vet. I have been with him since our first cat 42 years ago! I, to, am looking for a new vet. I would NOT go to Beaver Animal Clinic...they are very expensive. My sister-in-law uses Dr. Kendrew at Brady's Run and she loves him. He is very good with her dog Henry. I will probably go there since it is close to me. I will let you know if I hear of anyplace else.
Mary S. replied:
Me too. He really didn't know any of the new vets...he said they just practice differently...they want to do all this testing and stuff that really isn't needed. I agree. I have seen people spending a ton of money. He kept my cat alive for 18 years...I think he was really good. He actually sent a donation to the Cornell Veterinary School in honor of our first cat that died of Feline Leukemia. That was before the vaccines.
My dog is having his teeth cleaned and any possible extractions he may need at five points vet. Common dental problems in small dogs. Anybody had this done? Where at?...
Jeffrey P. replied:
I felt negatively about Five Points years ago, but over the past ten years they have really reclaimed my respect and confidence. We are there quite often, and IMHO they are fantastic. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Jeffrey P. replied:
Agree on Dr. Boswell. Recently we have been seeing Dr. Levi too (not sure of his last name).
Erin G. replied:
We've also been seeing Dr Levi lately Jeffrey and I really like him a lot. Max had some elevated liver numbers and his course of care has been spectacular.
Thanks for all the responses for vet recommendations yesterday! My senior dog was diagnosed with diabetes - but with insulin shots should have some good time ahead of...
