Restaurant recommendation in Allentown? Also, recommendation for some place to stop and take stuff home? I'll be heading there tomorrow. I should have asked earlier....

Try Cali Burrito if you like Mexican. They have great burritos, tacos, quesadillas and that kind of stuff

ShangWei Szechuan in Bethlehem is a great place for spicy Chinese. Comparable to the the good Szechuan places in Philly.

In my opinion, the pizza places that taste closest to North Jersey/Manhattan fare are Penn Pizza and Broad St. Pizzeria. Mesa Mexicano is decent. New Imperial has my favorite Asian cuisine. The Bayou specializes in Cajun and it’s very popular, but Hot Plate Soul Kitchen is better!

Go to the farmers market at the fairgrounds. Lots of interesting food there.

Here's a list of places that I think are decent in the area (no particular order),
* Lazeez (Mediterranean) - Allentown
* Limon (Turkish) - Hellertown
* Biyrani City (Indian) - Allentown
* Mayuri (Indian) - Allentown
* Johnny's Gyros (Mostly just Gyros, real lamb iirc) - Bethlehem
* Potts Dogs is pretty good as well imo. They have a few locations
* Rakkii Ramen (Japanese food, mostly ramen) More authentic Ramen, food was decent - Bethlehem
* Mister Lees Noodles (Americanized Ramen) Not authentic, but personally I prefer this over Rakkii - Easton
* Thai Kitchen (Thai) - South Bethlehem
* Aqui Es: A Taste Of Mexico (Mostly tacos/burritos) Personally my favorite authentic taco place - Bethlehem
Definitely a lot more around, but these are off the top of my head.

If you are at the Farmer's Market, stop in at Wert's for some take out desert. Best coconut cream pie I've ever had in my 58 years of trying coconut cream pie EVERYWHERE. From what I can tell all the deserts are delicious! Less than a block away from Market. 515 North 18 th Street. 610-439-0951 I say take out because there's always a wait to get in unless it's a super odd time. https://wertscafe.com/

Traub's Dogs on Main St, Emmaus PA. Not far outside southwest side of Allentown.

So all you need to know about hotdogs in Lehigh Valley is Traub’s, Jimmy’s in Easton and don’t trust any Potts doggies except for the one in Nazareth.

Thai Avenue is very good. They will use Thai chillies and make food very spicy if you adk. Grille 3501 is a nice high end restaurant.
