We love Coal Mountain Animal Hospital! Everyone is very nice and they aren't super expensive.
Britta M. replied:
Dr. Sarah Keith at Lanier Animal Hospital. Very knowledgable and compassionate, very good at explaining the facts, options, impacts. It's a little bit of a drive for me but my three dogs and two cats are absolutely worth it.
Jennifer P. replied:
Windermere Animal Hospital is amazing as is Cumming Vet clinic. We have tried coal mountain for boarding before but both times were a horrible experience with the second time being the last draw. We have 5 dogs and were boarding 2 of them. The two do not get along at all (they can't even see each other). We stated this multiple times to Coal Mtn. The next day as we were preparing for my brother-in-law's funeral in Birmingham, we get a call from Coal Mtn saying that there had been an accident with our dogs. Turned out that after the multiple times we told them to keep the dogs separated, they ignored this and the dogs proceeded to show how much they don't like one another. Frodo tore into Brownie which led to Brownie needing stitches.

Can anyone recommend a vet? I'm done with Loving Hands and Seamus is pretty sick
Shelby S. replied:
Hey, boys do strange things when they are in love! Stupid me didn't realize today was Thursday, I'm sorry! We're at: 3719 Old Alabama Rd Alpharetta, GA 30096 (678)710-9031. I've usually got Pork Chop with me, so if he eve has to stay he's got company!
Shelby S. replied:
Value Care Pet Wellness Clinic..soon to be Value Care Animal Hospital, don't be fooled, we're full service with all new equipment
Cathy F. replied:
Done Shelby! We'll be there tomorrow. He's been vomiting for 2 days, hasn't had any food, only a little bit of water. I took him to Loving Hands today and they gave him an anti nausea shot and a fluid injection. They felt his stomache and told me that they would have to tranquil him to get an ex ray. Every time I took him in and out the door someone with a small dog gave me dirty looks like Seamus was going to eat their dog. Dr said to bring him back if he's not better. Last 2 insults- they charged me 5 dollars to remove a tick and when I recieved the invoice the nurse attached a business card for dog obedience and said that the dr recommended it. Sorry. I really needed to vent!
Shelby S. replied:
If he's shaking and can't walk don't wait, get him to an ER clinic immediately. I'd be very worried about GDV(bloat) or a foreign body. And I call bullshit on them over having to sedate for x-rays, I do Pork Chop all the time without sedation, they don't have much giant breed handling experience. Makes me so mad! I'm sorry you had to through all that! If you press on his tummy is it hard? Does he have a pain response? What color are his gums? I'd really feel more comfortable you going tonight if it's been 2 days of no food and vomiting, that's taxing on his liver too. If you want a second mortgage on your house GVS I wonderful but so are the doctors at North Fulton and Cherokee County Emergency

Does anyone know of a vet in the area that offers free or discounted services? My little dog needs oral surgery to remove some infected teeth but have been quoted over...
Shannon C. replied:
Dr. Orr is great, but you have to hit him when he is taking new patients.
Kimberly R. replied:
Any independent vet will be less expensive than the petstore fls. Dr Orr hasn't taken new patients for several years. I even adopted a pet that had been under their care and they would not keep the dog as a patient after I adopted it.
