I'm following for word of mouth opinions, but the GNFC is putting on a preschool fair on November 12 at Newburyport City Hall at 7 pm. I went when my son was 2 and it was so helpful. I'll be going this year, too, to see what might work for us next year,

We use Amesbury Country Day on Clinton. Teachers are fantastic, great structure/routine. Very close nit and the right speed for my active guy. He started last year and is there again this year. She offers M, W,F or T, Th or full weeks. Very reasonable rates.

Both my kids did the public pre-k at AES. Morning (2.9-3/4 yr olds, depending on birthday) is from 830-1115, afternoon (4/5, again depending on bday) is from 1215-245. Mary Anne Dower is the teacher there, she is fabulous with the kids and my kids both loved it, my son is currently on the afternoon program, daughter just graduated from pre-k in June. $333/month for the program. Screening is in January/February

My son received Early Intervention for developmental delays, so he was an automatic spot at 2 yrs 9 mos. He went to the elementary pre-K and spent 3 yrs. I loved the program. My daughter who is 3 yrs older did a year at Windmill and a year at Amesbury Country Day, and although I liked them both, I liked the elementary school program better.

You can probably find out if there is any free pre-school through Pettengill House and Community Action too. Pettengill House is a great resource for free or discounted programs.
