Looking for a good Pediatrician in the valley! Thank you!

Dr. Hess at Ptarmigan Pediatrics, LLC!
Brittany H. replied:
Dr. Atwood at providence mat su by the hospital! He takes SOOO much time to sit and talk with you about any problem or question you might have. His nurse is so sweet and they call and check up on my little one when she has been sick. They squeeze me in at a moments notice and I hardly have to wait. I heard the waiting time and room at ptarmigan can be a nightmare! And a lot of people don't like the nurses. Dr. Atwood takes very good care of babies and trusts a mother's instinct! 1 907-761-5900

Dr. Impson at adventures in pediatrics! Love her and her nurse. Went through 2 other pediatricians before we found her. Love it. Ptarmigan is good but you dont get the consistency of seeing the same doctor everytime except for wcc's and i didnt like that, plus they didnt take me seriously when i told them my daughter had severe reflux, went to thomasoski,
Sam H. replied:
Bettina I'm 24 I went to capstone in 2009 And iv been with them since. Dr ERICKSON owns the place is such a great guy all around- was there threw my whole pregnancy and has the absolute best nurse EVER consider them they have only the best doctors! I give you my word!

Tessa R. replied:
Another vote for Dr Krimm! She's kind, very thorough, and has always been open to discussion on topics with me. Not to mention my son was a preemie and she was/is an amazing advocate for getting him referred to needed therapies/specialists.

We love Dr. Smith at Ptarmigen Pediatrics. She has been just wonderful with my girls food allergies and reflux, and so kind and patient with all other issues. When one of my daughters got a splinter deeply imbedded under the nail Dr Smith sang her her favorite lullaby (and remembered it from previous appointments when I had sung it!) to help calm her down, totally went above and beyond We also love the nurse practitioners there, Randy and Leanne, they have always been wonderful and had a wealth of knowledge. Have always felt the girls have been in very safe hands.

Dr. Krimm at Mat Su Community Pediatrics off Seward Meridian. She has fought to get us everything we need and really pays attention to my concerns as a mom.
Ashlei W. replied:
Second for Dr. Krimm!! She's a great mix of traditional and non traditional as well!
Amanda E. replied:
Karen Impson off Seward meridian. I was seeing Dr. Hess until one of the nurses didn't document my babies shots and wanted me to redo them. It's a long story. Dr. Hess is really nice but I'm not to fond of the nurses.

Army H. replied:
Hi Lauren, congrats on your new duty station and your bundle of joy. To learn about the on-post housing options, make sure to check out the Army Housing Online User Services Website (https://www.housing.army.mil) or stop by the Ft. Leavenworth Frontier Heritage Communities page. If you decide that off-post housing is the better option, the Fort Leavenworth HSO will be able to assist you with your home search. Hope this helps.
Melissa R. replied:
There is no hospital on post. I would recommend Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth. I'd also join the Leavenworth spouse pages and ask for recommendations there for OBs.

Melissa R. replied:
There is a very large amount of on-post housing for students at Leavenworth (far more than there used to be), most of it is exceedingly new and very nice. I would highly recommend living on post for the year. All three elementary schools are very highly ranked, and most kids can walk to school. There's also a middle school on post. Also, ILE is a very unique year, with a huge amount of family time and activities centered around both your immediate neighborhoods and your Seminar group. Those who live off post during ILE often miss out on the cohesive neighborhood experience, which can really make the year. We spent five years there (both in student housing and permanent party) ... it is one of the most beautiful posts, situated on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River. There are tons of family friendly activities in the area (Weston, Missouri, Applefest, Red Barn Farm, Science City in Kansas City, Fritz's (your food delivered by train suspended above your table!), Crown Center in Kansas City). Don't miss breakfast at the Sante Fe Depot Cafe in town! Honestly, you'll have a better year living on post. Plus, soldier can walk to class! Enjoy!!
Trying to find a NEW PEDIATRICIAN for the two younger kiddos....anyone have any good recommendations?? We've had enough of APG.
Shelana B. replied:
Yes. Dr. Elliot at Anchorage Pediatric Group. She is truly the best. She is Tonka and Nai's Dr and she is an ocean of knowledge. 562-2423

Pediatrician recommendations? Were moving to Fairbanks Sept 1st and while we won't need one right away I would appreciate some ideas! Thanks!
Amy L. replied:
Dr. Mary MacFarlane is God's gift to mothers. Fairbanks Clinic.
Sara S. replied:
We like Clift at Tanana Valley Clinic, she's newer I think. I confused appointment times this week though so got squeezed in with Depasquel and my kids really liked him too, answered any of my questions very thoroughly. We have only been in for well child visits though.
Suzanne A. replied:
I don't know if Corinne Leistikow is still practicing, but she was my daughter and mine doc. She was family practice at Tanana Valley Clinic
Craig W. replied:
Dr. Berguson at TVC pediatrics. He was my doctor and now both of my boys. He has been a pediatrician for over 30 years
Hannah H. replied:
Dr. Mary at the Fairbanks Clinic!
Heather C. replied:
Dr Bergson was our doctor for my son, and for my sons dad years and years ago ... But he missed something crucial with my son a cpl times within a 10 day period and by the time I got fed up and went to another doc my son was so bad we were flown to the hospital in anchorage
Nita D. replied:
Dr. Archer at Fairbanks Clinic.
Kylin C. replied:
Dr. Brunner and Dr. Banks at TVC Pediatrics are our favorites. Have also seen Dr. Clift and Dr. Depasquale and really likes both of them too. LOVE the doctors, dislike dealing with TVC in general (scheduling, attempting to call in to talk to a provider, etc).
Joy G. replied:
Mary McFarlane is the best!
Jenny J. replied:
Teresa Wilson- Dr. Bergeson at TVC. Love him. Also all the Peds providers there are great.:0)

While Dr. Mary is super awesome and has been a doctor for a long time, you should be aware that she is quick to admit and quick to medicate.
Hey Mommies in the Lee's Summit area who would you recommend as a pediatrician?
Rachael G. replied:
I do LS Physicians Group/Pediatrics - Sarah Dedrick. And the LS office has urgent care every weekday before and after normal hours and on the weekends in the morning. Very good in a pinch!
Chauncey P. replied:
My niece goes to Jeffrey Yannette at Raintree Pediatrics. And I went to Teresa Brady at Pediatric Professionals up until I was 14.
Chauncey P. replied:
Both are highly recommended throughout the area as well as the practice at Pediatric Associates.
Amy O. replied:
LS Physicians Group Dr. Gladstone
Brittani A. replied:
Dr. Knapp at Pediatric Professionals.
Sarah K. replied:
Dr. Trites as LS Physicians Group!! Really any doctor there is amazing. And the nurse practitioners are awesome too.
Brittany W. replied:
We go to Raintree Pediatrics and Dr. Yannette is our doctor (although we've only seen the nurse practitioner and Angie is wonderful) but LS Physicians and Raintree Pediatrics is all the same practice. They're great!
Jennifer G. replied:
Dr McEntire at preferred pediatrics. He is one of the top doctors in the area. Definitely a high recommendation at Saint Luke's east. Love him he's awesome with Lillie and my niece.
Elizabeth L. replied:
We go to child care limited at st Joseph hospital and we love them! Kennadis dr is dr Espe. It isn't in ls but the drive is worth it!
Nicole G. replied:
Summit Pediatrics! I am sooo picky, I've switched 3 times now they listen and take their time, they call for updates if you have called about something, and their front desk is so friendly. Do it. I love them, I should create an infomercial.
I'm taking pediatrician suggestions as I'm calling for interviews next week. ER area is my first choice. Thank you.
Cherie S. replied:
Dr Brand, LaTouche Pediatrics
Brandi J. replied:
Ok. If the greatest Dr in Alaska says Dr Brand than that's who I'm going to call first.
Corinna M. replied:
Dr. Brand takes care of my kiddos:)
Leigh C. replied:
Dr Tulip at the Children's clinic is the best!
Cherie S. replied:
Nope. If it's an emergency I usually just see his partner there. But Dr Brand does all his checkups, etc. honestly, he's a good fit for your personality.
Teal H. replied:
I like Dr Monica Guapp. We used Dr Brand for years & he is good, but I like a small practice vs the latouche giant.
Jeni D. replied:
Dr. Doty in Wasilla makes the best penises...ask Mandi too! She did a good job with Caleb's too:p his plastibell fell off after 2 hours. She is really laid back and good at calming you down when you are freaking out.
Looking for a good pediatrician, anybody have suggestions?

Katie D. replied:
I highly recommend Del Sol Church's MOPs program! They also have a Mother's Day Out program. All of their children's programs are very well done (i.e. trained staff, safe/clean facilities, etc.) We use Dr. Guggedahl for our kiddos. He accepts Tricare standard and is pro-parent choice on all subjects (something super important to us).
Charlotte W. replied:
Dr. Rance is fabulous (on base pediatrician). He cares and listens and does a great job! We lived off post and hated it. I'd say on post if possible.
Myrna L. replied:
Off post pediatrician: Dr. Salloum at Westwind Pediatrics. He is an excellent pediatrician.

Any favorite pediatrician or pediatric dentist in Wasilla or Palmer? ANC is just too far to drive now...
Melissa C. replied:
I took Rachel to Wee Care pediatric dentist in Wasilla. She's too little for me to really form an opinion ( she was going to scream regardless) but someone recommended him. For adults, I like Dr. Foster at Yuknis & Foster.
Question from the inbox ~ We will be PSCing to Fort Bliss late this summer. Husband is O3 grade. Can anyone give suggestions for on-post housing? I've heard some...
Tonya C. replied:
We were there for 7.5 years and never had a problem with anyone messing with our house! We lived in Corrigador (which is where you would be for O3). Great new houses, playgrounds, etc.. Freedom Crossing (PX) is amazing! Lots of stores and water feature for the kids to run through. We miss that! Also amazing indoor rock wall pool open all year round on East Bliss. My kids went to Hughey and liked it. Stay away from Cielo Vista Elem if you can...problems everywhere, even though they have good scores. Don't be fooled! EPISD has its problems and I'm so glad we are out of that district! But overall we miss that post. Good luck!
Olivia K. replied:
Corrigador and Pershing Heights are on main post. Corrigador is newer and bigger. Upper Beaumont is post housing that's off post. There's a wall around the area but the gate is unmanned so it's pretty much open to anyone. But those are your options for O3. You'll be moving late in the season so it's not uncommon to be on the list for months to a year. I would put in your application as soon as you have orders. You can request a certain area but if they offer you something else and you say no, you'll go the bottom of the list.
Rebecca C. replied:
Dr. Isaac's group (West El Paso) for pediatrics and First Baptist Church of El Paso has an awesome MDO. Please message me if you need more info, we were in El Paso from 2010-2012.
