Looking for suggestions for a reasonably priced veterinarian.... I do not mind outside of NOVA a little ways. Our vet is good, but two senior dog exams with blood work...

[http://sunshinehomevet.com/](http://sunshinehomevet.com/) the staff is great, they've increased their prices in the last couple years, but still lower than most in my 'hood.

Google “helping hands vet” in rva. It was mega cheap for a cleaning. The fee covered any meds and extractions as well. Well worth the PTO I used.

Getpet insurance and costs drop by up to 90% off. The catch is you pay up front and they pay you back later. The woodbridge animal hospital has been a really great place to us so far. We split the labor between them and banfield. Basic care like teeth is banfield, and emergency and checkups are at Woodbridge.

I have an issue with this as well. Took dog in because she was throwing up over two days, more than likely due to food change, and they wanted to run several tests and give her fluid under the skin for 1400. Told them I'd keep an eye on it and would come back if a problem. They then proceeded to guilt me into it. Poor dog was miserable and I think they injected too much water. She was a water balloon and you could hear it sloshing around as she walked. All the tests came back negative.

That is ridiculous for teeth cleaning. Even for old dogs. We were sitting for two 13 year old retrievers, and it was less than half that each. This was at Colonial Animal Hospital in Springfield. They have a yearly teeth cleaning sale in September I think. They are not cheap, but Dr. Fennel is quite good. It may be worth giving them a call: 703-451-5400. If you choose them, let them know that Penny's owner sent you!

Countryside veterinarian clinic is good in Charlestown WV. Just go down 7 hit 9 and it's right off one of the exits out there. Ma and pop shop. Very kind. If a lot of money is due they usually toss some tests off the bill.

We love Dr. Singh at Loudoun Valley Animal Hospital in Ashburn. The prices are reasonable and he does not recommend unnecessary testing. He’s honest and was a comforting and helpful resource when we had to make end of life decisions with our dog. We’ve been going to him for 3 years now with our two dogs and senior cat. I recommend him to anyone looking for an affordable and kind veterinarian.

That’s absurd for the cleaning. We had it done for 350$ I think in Anicira in Manassas.

What to thank everyone for their suggestions. A special thanks to u/_FELIDAE for suggesting Helping Hands. They are going to be helping me out and the cost will be less than 50% of what my vet quoted. Could end up being a couple thousand less. Now just trying to get my vet to send Helping Hands my dogs records.

I take my dog to Vienna Animal Hospital. They're great people. Prices aren't the cheapest but also aren't unreasonable. My dog's last dental was $800 something total, including several extractions.

I take my dog to Caring Hands (the one on Glebe, but I’ve heard good things about the other locations as well). They were great. Relatively reasonably priced, appointments available on saturdays and sundays, and everyone was very nice.

I recommend Burke Veterinary Clinic. Been taking my dog there since 2012. They correctly diagnosed my dog with Addison’s disease on one visit a couple years ago and the treatment they recommended has been a game changer.
