Caring Hands animal hospital on South glebe road took great care of us and our pup before we left for post. Good staff and efficient service. No issues upon arrival, everything was done right.

NOVA cat clinic has been great for me so far, and they are pretty familiar with our requirements. [https://novacatclinic.com/](https://novacatclinic.com/)

We had a great experience with the Clarendon Animal Clinic. Pleasant staff, caring vets, and competent advice. Or dog had extreme seriation anxiety and other health issues; they were understanding and designed a reasonable treatment regime for her. They also DoD a bang-up job with helping us prepare travel docs and vaccinations. https://clarendonanimalcare.com/

Cherrydale Veterinary Clinic in Arlington, Dr. Sunny House Timke. She was great when we were prepping to PCS with our dog.

Fairfax Animal Hospital near 7 Corners is great and easy to get to from Arlington if you have a car, and it is reasonably priced. I haven't used Clarendon Animal Clinic but at least one of the vets used to work at Fairfax and was awesome.

If you need to get forms endorsed by USDA/APHIS in Richmond, I highly recommend going there in person. I know that adds to the PCS stress, but myself and several others I know have had bad results trying to get our forms returned via fedex in time. Their customer service isn’t quite where it could be.
Is anyone, on here, a veterinarian, or know one I can speak to? My dog has been acting extremely off and weird. He's not well, and or vet is closed. Please advise....

My vet is closed but I would call Friendship Animal Hospital. They are 24/7
Wilson F. replied:
Call Friendship, or Alexandria Vet Hospital, they have emergency service!!! Hope your pooch feels better soon!

City Paws is closed
Meghan H. replied:
Caring Hands Animal Hospital has limited hours from 10-2 on Sundays and they always have a vet on call that can be paged and will call you right back. They're not an "emergency" vet, but have great systems in place for extended hours and on call vets. Locations in South Arlington and Alexandria. Give them a call!

District Vet in Brookland or in Eastern Market! We started at the Brookland location, but when we moved eastern market was more convenient— they have been incredible with our rescue dog (who is petrified of the vet and strangers altogether!). Highly recommend!

I’ve been satisfied with District Vet in Brookland but haven’t had any emergencies or anything crazy to really test them.
erigby927 replied:
Best vet in the area is Friendship Hospital in Tenleytown. They are pricey but are open 24/7 for any emergencies and have a ton of specialists in house.
alizadk replied:
I bring my dog to Atlas Vet, but they are pretty booked right now. Also called City Paws, where I take my cats, and they are booked up for the next two weeks as well. The Hill East FB group recommends District Vet, too.

Arlington friends: I am looking for a new veterinarian, any recommendations?
Rochelle L. replied:
My mom takes her critters to Dr. Eitner in Smokey Point (by the Commissary) and likes him. I took Spike to him before we flew down here and I liked him a lot. He seemed very practical and not pushy on buying specific products or brands, which is something I've had other vets do.

I love Parker Way Veterinary Clinic, they are in Mt. Vernon, so not too far from Arlington. They are so much cheaper than any other place I have been to or looked at. But, most importantly all of the staff is amazing, friendly and they don't make me feel like they just want to make a buck. ;0)
Sandi J. replied:
Dr Gill that used to work at Everett Animal hospital is said to be working on her own, making house calls at a very reasonable cost. I can ask for contact info from a person at work tomorrow if you want.

Just received a message that a person in Arlington needs to get their dog to a Vet ASAP.... Is Lynnwood VCA the closest that takes payments?
Susan L. replied:
Update: The VCA in Lynnwood does not and would not accept payments and turned them away in the middle of the night. They found a place up North that took one look at their dog and rushed her in for surgery before even discussing payment or asking for payment. The dog is still in the hospital and they are hoping she pulls through. Maria O'Halloran Gabbie Canepa
