yes, go see Dr. Mcafee at St. Joseph. He was the only surgeon my husband could find that would operate on him. Dr Brian Sullivan at Maryland Brain and Spine was good but when it came down to surgery he wouldn't touch my husbands spine (T11 and T12 with one disc pushing on his spinal cord) Dr Mcafee has been called the best surgeon on the east coast and he truly was a life/career saver for my husband. here's his website: http://drmcafee.net

I'm a fan of MD Brain and Spine. I have had both back and neck surgeries and love them. I see Dr. Dix but I have heard good things about all of them.

Dr. Clifford Solomon is the best there is. I have degenerative vertebrae disease in my neck. Symptoms are very similar to what you described. I have had 2 surgeries. There is no one else I would see!

I just saw Dr. Griffith in Dunkirk. He seemed really good and I have heard a lot of good things about him. My L-4 and L-5 is herniated.

Dr. Voyadis is a Georgetown university neurosurgeon that comes down to Calvert Memorial and is really good (I work there at Georgetown with his patients immediately post op and had friend that had surgery with him down here) she really liked him and said he did great job; she also said he was cute...not that matters but its nice to look at! His patients rarely have any issues

Another vote for Maryland Brain and Spine and Dr Sullivan. Very professional and won't just do surgery to get the $. Dr. Sullivan was very kind and said he would do my surgery but strongly suggested that I go to a pain management doctor first to see if that could help before jumping into surgery. I did end up needing the surgery unfortunately but it was nice that he wasn't so quick to just cut me open and collect more money. Surgery was 3 years ago and it's been amazing since then.

I am, unfortunately, an expert (patient) in this area. Dr. Ricci on West Street (across from Goodwill) is awesome and takes United Healthcare. If you want something unique (was the answer for me after literally 30 years of searching), try Dr. Windman in Greenbelt - procedure is called Atlas Orthogonal. Web site is www.drwindman.com. She does not take insurance but will give you paperwork for reimbursement; Dr. Ricci takes UnitedHealthcare.

I second Dr. Windman as my saving grace for 15 years. However, she is not in UHC's network. Her fee is $75 per adjustment.
