What's the best optician in the area? I have a very petite face and have struck out so far in the Arlington Center places(though they are super nice!)

I like Warby Parker for buying glasses - they'll send you 5 pairs, and you keep the one that you like best.

I've been going to Central Square Eye care in Cambridge for years, though it can be a pain to park there. I have found many great frames there and I also have a smaller face.
Chris O. replied:
Jill Stuart makes nice inexpensive frames that work fairly well for a petite face. Pretty common brand. Frames should be around 120$ depending on where you go. (+\- 20$ or so). Off the top of my head i think the luxottica chains carry them. So Target optical, LensCrafters. Probably pearl vision. For eyes usually has a few. Wes and Shawn at the Harvard sq. For eyes are great opticians.
Looking for recommendations for a hairstylist who is really, really good at short haircuts and coloring. Also looking for recommendations for a good opticians store....

Hair- Salon 221 88 Warren St Arlington! Jennifer is the BEST!
In 2017 my employer switched vision benefits to Eyemed. My existing doctor in in-network but my existing optician is not.
If you're an Eyemed member, what local...
Chris O. replied:
Eyemed will essentially give you a frame "allowance" and then assign co-payments for lenses. The frame allowance is usually about 150$. Of those locations you listed, the best value will be For Eyes Optical. (In which case I'd go to Harvard sq. and ask for Wes). The other side of that coin is finding an optician who knows the insurance well enough to navigate some of the nuance. Target Optical (also an eyemed provider) will give you a better price on high index lenses vs polycarbonate with eyemed because of how eyemed has qualified plastic vs polycarbonate lenses. But that's the minutiae that is determined by your Rx and what sort of eyeglass lenses you are looking for. All that being said I've heard nothing but great things about the teams at Lexington eye and Medford optical.
