That's super useful to know! I was told 15 years ago I needed major reconstructive surgery, and I refused. I've seen specialists in DC, San Francisco and at Tufts Dental School. I've yet to find a "specialist" with the magic answer. I've been doing reasonably ok with a night splint, chiropractic, yoga and not eating chewy things. I think the surgery would have ruined my life.
Chase H. replied:
Try Cornerstone Physical Therapy. I work with a lot of head/neck patients that have had excellent results with them. They have several TMJ specialists in the office.

I went to Berry Hinderstein once. He was great but I was told by my dentist that he has retired. But I keep getting these cards in the mail for a dentist named K. Donald Jackson. www.excellenceindentistrync.com It says on the card they are on Hendersonville Rd., and they do general dentistry, braces, exclusively mercury-free fillings, cosmetic dentistry, oral implants, laser dentistry, headache and TMJ treatment, sleep apnea and snoring treatment.I have thought about checking them out. Has anyone you seen suggested that you get braces? My dentist and Dr. Hinderstein had suggested it for my TMJ but it's sooooo exspensive and they said it MIGHT help.
Jody S. replied:
I have terrible TMJ, and someone recommended this person, although I have never been: http://www.cornerstoneptnc.com/PT/about_us.html#seth

Also, my guy was the only one who did nonsurgical TMJ treatment at the time and was in Sav GA. Dr Black. Google it.
I have CIDP since May 2014. I just moved from Abilene, TX to Mars Hill, NC. Does anyone know a good neurologist and treatment center nearby (Asheville)?
Does anyone know of a good Neurologist I can go to that accepts Medicaid? I am tired of being jerked around by doctors asking me dumb questions about my headaches and...
Celeste J. replied:
Neurologists seem to typically always he the same and not very good at listening to your requests. I don't know if they take medicade for sure but, I go to dr. Robert Armstrong at Asheville neurology for my epilepsy and he seems very understanding.

Aunt Diana, no I did not realize they ran in the family. That would make a lot of sense though. Thanks for the idea about the research universities and such. I should check into that. I have always gotten headaches, but not until the last few years aft...See More
