Looking for a yoga-for-runners class in the new year. Everything found via Google was for earlier in 2014. Recommendations?

Here are some yoga class recommendations from area teachers. I haven’t been to any of these classes but I thought this might be useful information:) 1. Jasyoga was suggested by several teachers 2. There is a thursday night yoga for athletes class at Seattle Athletic Club Downtown (you can do drop-in classes) 3. Rocket Crossfit in Hillman City has classes with a focus on mobility for athletes taught by Jen Mullholand (drop-in or buy a package) 4. Seattle Iyengar Yoga offers a back care series 5. Yogabliss on Mercer Island has Yoga for Athletes classes. 6. Jay Holby is a trainer and yogi who 8 Limbs Yoga in Phinney Ridge. 7. There is a Yoga for Athletes series on Sat. at the Shoreline Spartan Rec Center (next session starts Jan 17) and Yoga for Athletes at MKG Martial Arts (available to anyone as a drop in). Both are taught by Tracy Kim www. tracy-yoga. com

I love Barre! It really helped me with running. I felt a lot stronger, faster, and less sore altogether. I can definitely feel the difference now that I have stopped. Unfortunately, the classes are really expensive, which is why I have stopped. I have some of the at home videos, I just haven't tried them yet.... :/. My roommate suggested this website: http://www.doyogawithme.com/ they have a yoga for runners online course with a pdf and videos. I am going to try it out this week.

Yes! Barre! I am joining Community Fitness, which has a pretty great spread of classes, including spin, yoga, barre, tabata, &c. All of the classes are part of the monthly membership fee (I have found that gyms usually charge an extra fee for the most popular classes, like barre), or you can pay by the class for $16. I tried both the barre class and the spin class and found both to be a great workout. They have classes pretty early, too, so it works with my work schedule. http://www.communityfitness.com/

Asheville Yoga Center has Gentle yoga Level 1 on Sunday and Tuesday evenings and a Yoga basics class on Sunday eve as well. I practiced there until my move to Swannanoa made it impractical. AYC is near to 240 in north AVL and a fantastic studio. You might also look at their donation studio's schedule.
