Needing a second opinion on my most recent eye exams after two misdiagnoses and shoddy bedside manner from Dr. Kimmich downtown (the guy who works out of…but is not...

Leigh Ellen, thank you for the encouragement, I will not let you down! And Ryan, I almost went with Chris Sabo because he is posing angelically in his specs in a Lenscrafters ad I found.

I have some serious football eyes and I use acuvue oasys contacts which I get thru brandnamecontacts.com. It's not too pricey. With astigmatism, there will definitely come a time each day where the contacts start to feel weird, but the ones I'm using now are comfortable for at least 8 hours
Christina M. replied:
I live in Gwinnett and still drive to Athens to see Dr. Forche!
Dave C. replied:
Not sure of cost, but Dr. Kinard on the eastside is awesome. He's picked glass and metal out of my eye on separate occasions.
Jace B. replied:
Just called Nuci's. They're like, "oh yeah, no problem, come on by and we'll set you up!" Maybe I'll get hooked up with some rec specs for maximum rock and roll. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZSRRivY4 xlE/RunrltUKqcI/AAAAAAAAA0 w/dBUdqvioBWg/s320/mug1205.jpg
Ryan V. replied:
Nice Eric Dickerson pic. I would've gone with Horace Grant, maybe even Chris Sabo. (I doubt anyone in this thread knows who I'm referencing.)
Brandon R. replied:
I went to Dr Thomas for a while but he screwed up my script. I have been seeing Dr Harron at Walmart of all places. He's great and CHEAP.
Jace B. replied:
Man, I'm not surprised, and no wonder Dr. Kimmich is so crummy: he's $75-$100 cheaper than the folks I've called so far today, and definitely half-asses it.
Page C. replied:
Hey I have some very good advice for you! You can get an eye exam voucher from Nucis, for Dr.Forche at Five Points Eyecare. It's an awesome place, and he and his wife are seriously incredible people and philanthropists. He helped me overcome many various eye problems I've had over the years (astigmatism is unfortunately the tip of the iceberg for me). The price is like $10. I've needed yearly optic tests that should've totaled over $700, and they have helped me out for a fraction of the cost. They also have a blueberry farm, which is also some sort of refugee camp for women from other countries who are escaping dangerous situations/marriages
Lauren G. replied:
I dunno how much for an out of pocket exam, but Russell Springer on Hawthorne is so great! (I have astigmatism in both eyeballs)
Crymes is a wonderful group and then Dr. Michael Jacobs has a great group, Athens Eye Associates.

Nadine Forche at Five Points Eye Care

Five points Eye Care--phenomenal customer service and excellent docs.
Laura H. replied:
I go to Dr Crosby and love him.
Kristen B. replied:
I was about to ask about Pruitt insurance. But I go to Dr. Springer off Hawthorne. Nice guy who accepts every insurance plan you could think of but without it I also used to even go to Walmart Vision which was surprisingly great.
Julie M. replied:
I use Jenkins Vision. Eye exam for contacts is about $99. Vision insurance not really worth it if you pay 100 percent of premiums.
Pete C. replied:
Check with Emery Paterson
Kimberly C. replied:
Seeing Dr Crymes on Monday. Woo hoo. Same practice as Demarco.
Cameron M. replied:
Gus Sams!!!
Katie S. replied:
Vic Crosby is the best!!! Very easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean, wink wink!
Traci H. replied:
Russell Springer is awesome. The1 st time I went there he, unprompted, gave suggestions on where on my body I could hide a flask for Music Midtown. He's a good Dr too:)
Kate O. replied:
Gus Sams. I bet you know his wife, Natalie, from JLA.
Melissa A. replied:
We like Dr Springer too! Joel & I both have good vision and they are great to let us know we are good (and not try and talk us into getting glasses or something we don't need).
