Optometrist Hi folks, Any recommendations for an Optometrist in Alpharetta? Which eye care center is most known and reputable in this area?
Thank you.

My wife is an optometrist. Avoid places that gives away free cheap eye exams like America's best. They get you in the door, give you 5 min exams and make their numbers on frame volume. It's best to avoid all retail practices in general, except for maybe Pearl Vision. Most private practices are Dr owned and you will get much better care there. Your exam is more important than glasses. Your exams should be atleast 20 minutes, 30 mins preferably.

Dr. Kevin Barrows at of all places, Walmart... He's great! Super friendly, fast but also takes time to answer your questions.

I’d love to see the responses! I’m (way over)due to schedule an appointment. I know there are a few on my insurance within five minutes of home, and the convenience is tempting. But I’ll be glad to see if anyone really likes theirs!

I went to Dr. Angela Lee, right in downtown Alpharetta last week for my first ever optometrist visit. She was personable, knowledgeable, and experienced. Then they fitted me for a pair of glasses which were $275, so I said hell no to those and ordered some Warby parkers online with the prescription she gave me. Not sure how my vision insurance works, but the visit was $10. Also, my dad has been going to Thomas eye group for years and years and really likes them.

Optometrist or Ophthalmologist? Thomas Eye Group has many offices and a great reputation and both kinds. Eye Consultants of Atlanta has some of the best ophthalmologists in the country, but it's on the other side of town (I think under Piedmont umbrella). Dr. Howell (OD) took over at For Eyes on Windward, and so far we've been pretty happy with him. He's on our insurance and I never get out of there under 30 minutes for the exam, to /u/anish714 's point. I'm not fond of the retail part though, but they seem to be a separate group than the doctor's office.

My wife and I use [http://www.eliteeyecaredrpeterson.com/](http://www.eliteeyecaredrpeterson.com/) Great office staff, always seems to remember despite limited interaction. They helped me transition from glasses to contacts during COVID because I got super tired of foggy glasses. I feel like they weren't at all bothered by the fact I went through several brands of contacts until I found one that was comfortable for me and they actively worked to make sure I was happy with what I landed on.
Where has anyone taken their toddler for an eye exam or a place that is good with toddlers??? My son needs an eye exam and need recommendations. Thank you
