Does anyone know where I could purchase an antique map of the South? Or any map and globe stores in Atlanta? We need a gift for a conference my boss is attending in...

Several vendors at the monthly Scott Antique Market usually have antique maps. I saw a really cool one there once of Atlanta from just prior to the Civil War. The next one is Nov 20-22 nd.

A good starting place is calling up antique shops and seeing what they know. Even if they don't have what your looking for in store, them may have some leads for you.

[Gallery 515](http://gallery515.com/) in Buckhead is pretty good.

For authentic local stuff, [this](http://www.glsarchives.com/) company might help. I think they also offer display-quality prints.
Check out www.etsy.com/shop/geographicsart A professor of design at Auburn does all of these by hand and they are stunning. A lot of his work is focused on the south too.

[This site](http://www.wardmaps.com/viewcities.php) sells lots of antique maps as well as prints, I bet you could find something here, but I don't know if it will get to you in time.

We're trying to make the same switch away from Ikea. So far, we've looked at several places but done all of our buying from Highland Row Antiques (there's a small street-level space but a big basement, don't be like me and initially assume that it's just the one couch and lamp for sale). I found their selection terrific (lots of 50 s-60 s-70 s furniture, lamps, ephemera) and their prices fair. There's also the once a month Scott Antique Market, but I haven't been yet: http://www.scottantiquemarket.com/

Kudzu in Decatur. Also, on Cheshire Bridge rd near Cheshire and Piedmont there are a few different furniture/"antique" places right near each other. The place next to the Onyx has some great modern pieces.

Look up atlantausedfurniture on Instagram. Dude has tons of mid century modern furniture all the time. No cards tho. Takes cash and venmo only

If you have the patience for it Craigslist is actually a great tool to use, especially for artwork and other furniture. Every once in a while you can even find something worthwhile in the free section on that site.

I've heard (but can't confirm) the CAC in Sandy Springs has awesome used furniture for sale...especially during January / February. http://www.ourcac.org/thrift-boutique/

If you're up for a drive, there's two good and large antique/vintage furniture/furnishings stores literally right across from each other in Woodstock (though technically Acworth) on the corner of 92 and Bells Ferry. Woodstock Market and Woodstock Antiques & Consignments. The latter is definitely more antique-focused.

Ballard Designs There are two locations - West Midtown and Holcomb Bridge. Both locations sell merchandise that is scratch and dent, but HB sells only scratch and dent as well as customer returns. Each store has different sales every week. The best items to get at HB are: - counter chairs and stools - tables - rugs - consoles - shelves - office desks

Another place I'd check is [Decatur Estate & Wayback Antiques](http://decatur-estate-wayback-antiques.business.site/) on Lawrenceville Highway, close to North Druid Hills Road. I love that place! I've found many treasures there over the years.
