Carly S. replied:
North Fork Vet is my go-to place. Sounds like she ate something she shouldn't have, so I would take her into Evening Vet Clinic on Lincoln Way. Call ahead and good luck.
Linda K. replied:
Loomis might charge more for ER Care but they will do all they can to find out the problem. Don't let money stand in the way of care for your dog. Hope it all turned out well.
Jon W. replied:
Yeah, never let money get between the way of treating your dog or cat or a new car or a new house or boat. If you don't have the money, how do you pay for your animal? I just took mine in for emergency surgery and it's $2000.00. Somehow I have to find out how to pay that in 3 months and I am on disability and that is 2 months pay for me. I tried the gofundme.com but that worked like a lead balloon and you have to sign a agreement with the vet before you take your dog home as to how you will manage to pay 3/4 of your income for 3 months on time while trying to live. Yep..." Don't let money stand in your way in fairy tale land"
Lisa L. replied:
Loomis is the place to go after hours. Atlantic St Vet tried to gouge me for money in an emergency. I wont ever go there again. Edgewood vet is where we go regularly. they are caring, compassionate and knowledgeable.
Linda K. replied:
I love North Fork Vet, they are very reasonable and I do believe would let a regular customer make payments. I don't think they are open after hours though and Our own clinic here in Foresthill is wonderful. I started there and it is owned by the same vet who owns North Fork. He gave me discounts right off the get go. WE are fairly new to this area and he even came to my house when it was time for one of my dogs to go to Rainbow bridges. Most vets will not do that in a big city town. If your on a tight budget you can also get your meds for any of the animals sent to places like Costco which is the cheapest for dog meds or any pharmacy you want. The do charge more at a Vets office for meds. I just am a firm believer that if you can't afford to care for you pets you should rethink having them. They are no different to me then one of my kids.
Denise C. replied:
The best is at Companion Veterinary. They totally worked with me when my dog had kidney stones and needed emergency surgery. They are wonderful & fair!

South Auburn Dr Ted Veiling - for us over the last 17 years he has made house calls, come in the middle of the night ... and as we speak had my son rush his dog to his partner Auburn Emergency on Hwy 49 due to massive face swelling allergic reaction and he was too concerned to ask him to wait 15 minutes ...... so meeting him there (that is his sister hospital and theyre open until 9 p.m.)
Carrie A. replied:
I use Kristy McKamey at Edgewood too. She is very knowledgeable and compassionate and she is great about laying out treatment options without guilting you if you can't afford the works.

Dr. Rice, best prices around.
Katie C. replied:
I work at Cool Animal Hospital, same company as yours and their dental Package is the cheapest I've seen... obviously it would be more if there are extractions, but still cheaper of a base pay than what I have found. Before I started working there I was going to bring my dogs in (still am, just money issues because I just moved). It's going to be pricey wherever you go, it's what happens after that really counts.
Gabrielle R. replied:
If you want affordable Animal Spay & Neuter clinic has a cap of only $200. In the last 4 months i have gotten 2 cats and 1 dog done there each cat was $96 and the dog was $125.
Jennifer H. replied:
Dr. Rice is awesome.
Carly S. replied:
North Fork is the best I've been to! Dr. Sheriff is really informative and reasonable. He's gentle with scared pets and doesn't push them to make them fear the vet.
