I know it's on the otherside of the bridge but dr Nick Cooper in Epsom no need for an appointment just rock on in. Longest I have had to wait is 20 him and he is amazing with prescriptions

gosh thats annoying!! Ive had always enjoyed the crowd at Glenfield Medical center. thou sometimes they ran a bit behind so it pays to call before you go in but otherthan that they are all really good!!

My boy & I see Dr Valentina at Health Zone (Millennium Inst.). Best Doctor I've ever had! Was previously with a Doctor at Kowhai Clinic & sick of being fobbed off, misinformed & misdiagnosed.

Coast care is great. They have a practice at Chartwell and Birkenhead. They are really lovely at both places and great with kids.

I have been to Lots of doctors on the shore and got sick if attitudes, how much they cost and how they would never tell me what I could get free through the public health system (I do have medical insurance), now I go to Mangere family doctors and even though it's a distance my appointments are only 17 bucks and some appointments are free, they also tell me what I can get free and they really look after me.

Glenfield Medical are really lovely. They have lady doctors who my daughter and I see but my son likes Alan the male dr there.

I second Coastcare in Chartwell (Dr Said) - he's been great and really good with kids too

My daughter has had eczema for years and we have struggled with her skin so much, I have a great doctor at Birkenhead medical centre BuT I believe u need to see DR Williams at Mt Wellington integrated health centre, be prepared to change yr child's diet in the short term BUT the visit is worth while, 1 st time in 3 years my baby's skin is itch free and clear.

Liz Chesterfield at Coastcare Birkenhead is very thorough. PS Emu oil products are AMAZING for eczema - best results I've ever seen

Is your daughters eczema/allergies caused by food, dust, animals, environment? My daughter also has eczema and allergies to lots of things, food and otherwise. Same with my husband. We had their allergies treated through kineaseology at Health and Wellness. They can eat foods that they once reacted to, can pat/cuddle cats and have no allergic reaction etc. it's amazing. Greenstone Medical is good - kids free to 18 adults $17. I go to Tana Fishman but she is hard to get into so the kids go to whoever I can get into and always ha e been happy.

It may not be super close, but Coastcare Chartwell is AMAZING. A true family doctor who knows everyone by name and go the extra mile every time. Our doctor is Obai Said, but have seen other docs there, and they're fantastic. There's also a Coastcare on Birkenhead road and they're good too.

Wouldn't recommend Coastcare Birkenhead, similar feeling.

We love Coastcare Chartwell too. I'm under Anna Grinchy but my 3 year old has seen Dr Said regularly. They do late nights and see kids without delays and appointment times are kept so you don't have to wait more than 5 mins. Have been to the birkenhead one too where we've see Dr Said.

Jan Raymond at Mother Well, Mt Eden. In fact any of the GP's at Mother Well are good, but I think the other two are part time so trickier to get appts. Bit of a hike from Glenfield but Jan is excellent and very knowledgeable in all things alternative (but also will prescribe mainstream meds where required). Hope that helps.

If this is not too far for you, there is New centre Health New Lynn is pretty good, right next to shopping mall, big new building and got all new equipment. Free parking for up to 2 hours.

Health new Lynn get my vote. Have always managed to get an appointment to see the same Dr (Dr Woolford is awesome!). Have also taken my 14 month old in on a Saturday in an 'emergency' situation and was seen very quickly by the on-call Dr who was lovely too and it only cost $5. Was really impressed, a much more pleasant experience for this stressed mummy than any white cross or after hours I've been to before:-)

I also recommend the Drs at Titirangi Medical. We see Dr Sheetal Patel.

Oops, I see you asked for a doctor rather than med centre. We go to Gail Houng-Lee at Health New Lynn, she is great, but doesn't work every day, so my 1 yo been seen by dr Phil (don't remember surname), and he's been great too.

We left Birkdale GP last year and now use Sunset road, it's a practise of women and we absolutely love them. They are fantastic with the kids and have been great with us too.

There Is a new receptionist at Birkdale family Dr's. I think Gloria is still there though.

Glenfield Medical centre has 4/5 female general practitioners. I was seeing Jane Seeley, before I left, & thought she was great ;)
