Does anyone know a website where I can look at frames for glasses? Went to optometrist and the frame only: $886.

Clearlycontatcs.co.nz. Or sometimes on grab one or Groupon you can get packages for 70 (test, frames and lenses) from john occonnor or Auckland optometrists, I did that and they are great

If you have a current prescription and you know what kind of frames you like, you can get WAY cheaper glasses from international websites like Zenni Optical. Typically $30-40 including postage. You can get cheap glasses in NZ but there's a really limited selection of frames and they're pretty clunky-looking compared to the $300 ones they'd like to sell you instead (which they bought for $30 and marked up 900%).
BluSnow replied:
Specsavers. Specifically the one in New Lynn. Really know what they're talking about and a great selection of frames.

Specsavers is pretty great. Went to the one in Takapuna and got a pair for around $140, the base price was something like $69 but I wanted to add on anti-glare and my eyes are pretty crap. Plus they do deals where you can get 2 pairs for a cheap price.

I got a cheap prescription via the [Auckland University ](http://www.clinics.auckland.ac.nz/uoa/home/about/our-services/optometry/op-our-services/eye-examinations). It is just $50 if you are an adult who is not a student and less for others. Then I bought the glasses online at Clearly Contacts.

I need my first pair of glasses. So I'd need somewhere that can advise me well on what style of frames to purchase for my face shape. Does anyone rate specsavers on their ability to do this?

Yes agree Greenlane Clinic very good, they looked after my son when he had an accident with his eye. Have you tried Auckland Eye in Newmarket, that was where the surgeon we used worked out of and he was very very good, don't think he was super expensive. Otherwise ring Highbury Optomertrists they may be able to recommend one to you.
Sarah M. replied:
Small help but Auckland hospital run a free shuttle out to Greenlane so you could get the Newmarket bus to go close to their and ease your transport worries slightly

Tony at Highbury Optometrists is qualified to provide some ophthalmology services. He's extremely professional and I highly recommend him, so may be worth ringing to see if he can help. Retina Specialists in Parnell are very good but I don't know how their prices compare to the Milford option.
Hey all to those of you with glasses I need some advice. I had my eyes tested a few years ago and got glasses done at specsavers. I recently lost my glasses but thinking...
