2 16 hand horses is 1100-1300 kg depending on build, floats are 800- 1500 kg depending on build - then add your bits and pieces that you take with you. Isn't it recommended for a car towing two horses in a float for a rating around 3 tonne? I know for an angle load type float with fit out and 2 horses I was looking at cars that could pull at least 3.5 tonne.
