The puppies sold in pet stores in Aurora come from puppy mills, where the parents of the puppies are left in inhumane conditions, and the pets that don't get sold are dumped on shelters to be killed. The Beacon-News has done several stories, and this organization has a lot more information: http://www.thepuppymillproject.org/ Please adopt from Aurora Animal Control, Kane County Animal Control, or one of the rescue organizations on PetFinder. There are lots of rescued pups listed on Petfinder of many different breeds from all around Aurora and surrounding communities.
