Anderson Animal Shelter. Many rescues in the area, some only use fosters and do not have a facility like Anderson, but it gets those dogs out of the crates and pens and away from the stress of a shelter.

NIPRA is AWESOME! We rescued two pugs from them. If they don't have any at the moment, you can still complete the application and they will update you. I'm a big fan of Rover Rescue in Aurora. roverrescue.org. Their dogs live in foster homes before you adopt them so you will be able to learn how they've been in a home setting. They have dogs of all ages. I'm meeting one on Friday that I hope to bring home :).
