Also, we lost a bunch of cabins to the Memorial Day flood. Supply is low.

Check Lost Maples and the surrounding areas. LPT, plan ahead - Cabins are at a premium during our 10 HOT months of the year.

http://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/bastrop/fees-facilities/cabins There's those, but honestly I don't know what it looks like out there since the flooding (or if the cabins are even available, the site doesn't say)

Canyon of the Eagles park has a resort. Not sure of the price though. It's nice out there.

If you're into the Wimberley area, this [website](http://texashillcountryreservations.com/) is wonderful. It also has stuff in the surrounding areas. I've used it a number of times. Though they had they floods, Wimberely is still there and is beautiful and lots of nature-y things to do. [This is also a decent site for cabins.](http://hillcountrypremier.com/lodging/) It is spread out over the hill country. I like cabin hopping around the area! So, if you need any advice, let me know.

I was also looking for cabins yesterday and found that typing in the area you want to stay + cabins is a good way to view all the prices. I tried to book a cabin on Inks several months back for the end of August and had the same luck. Now I am redirecting my search to Canyon Lake, the Guadalupe, Gruene, New Braunfels and where ever else is close to water. I viewed it in map view and just went to them all to compare prices. A lot of the places you will have to call to investigate availability. The frio is really nice too but that’s not central tx.

Savannah, GA is a great destination for tourists-- so you wouldn't have any trouble renting out what your purchase (assuming city ordinances don't get in the way, or your rentals are more than 30 days). As far as a nature/cabin feel- we are more historic/coastal, but you might like The Landings at Skidaway Island. Wooded trails, resort style living. Or, there are some larger/wooded lots in the more outlying areas of town that might suit you. Let me know if you'd like any more information.

When I lived in the Mission, I would always pass one on Valencia St called Hotel Sunrise, which claims to be the cheapest hotel in the Mission. There's also an extra room at The Convent and The Purple House in the Haight, but they don't have private bathrooms. They're both fun places to stay though: )
