I need an African American Primary Physician in Bakersfield. Refer me someone!
Sukhvir K. replied:
Why African American?
Arleana W. replied:
She's a OBGYN. I need a Primary Physician or General Physician. But thanks for that referral as well. I'm going all Black. I have the greatest Black Pediatrician EVER!
Connie B. replied:
Dr Wendy Crenshaw
Wanda M. replied:
If you ever need a good pain management Dr, Arleana, try Dr. Washington. She is amazing, and African American! I think her first name is Deidra (SP) She treated my husband for a mysterious shoulder pain and she was so wonderful. She not only explained everything to him, but she also drew pictures of his spine and told him that she does not recommend medication as a first treatment unless the pain is due to cancer. She took lots of time with us! totally amazing Dr.!
Arleana W. replied:
Dr. Okezie she is AWESOME. Inboxing you her contact card. I love her. It's like going to take your kids to your sister, expect she's a top doctor who cares for your kids in the utmost professional manner.
Arleana W. replied:
S Denise Jones Bakersfield Black goal to change that!!! Make sure to register on their website for the launch and all updates.

Dr. Kavorkian out of Michigan was my primary care provider for years. He was kind of weird, though....every time he prescribed medication, he would ask me "Do you think that's enough to get the job done?"
Jessica M. replied:
Gilli and Ratnayake are good as well as Steven Chen, but I think you would really like Alan Scott Ragland D.O.

Yes. I have been going to Dr. Mary Milkie-Andrews on Stockdale Highway at Premier Family Practice Associates. She is very nice, thorough, and down to earth. Takes the time to discuss all your concerns. Last time I went, I took a list with me, and she took the time to address every one of my concerns. Highly recommend. (661) 327-1431 9500 Stockdale Hwy. 2 nd floor. She works on Mondays and Wednesdays, I believe OR maybe it's Wednesdays and Fridays. You won't be disappointed.
Chelley K. replied:
He’s out with all the dogs all the time. When he pees—it’s usually in the garage, on the other dogs’ beds; he’s making a statement. Baby Baxter is the most opinionated little dog and he has lots of attitude. I love him dearly and have not put him up for adoption formally because I am looking for just the right how.
David & I need a primary care doctor. Who do you recommend & why?

Dr Nichols is great. He has a ton of patients, but is down to earth and not a robot.

Dr. Geddam. She is very nice & not pushy. Even my husband likes her & he hates going to see Dr.'s
Martie A. replied:
Dr. Cousins is great. He takes his time explaining conditions and answering questions. He follows up on medication reactions etc.
Kathy S. replied:
Dr Emmanuel Strategos. Has a real down to earth and personable bed side manner. Takes time with his patients getting to know them. Cares about them and is a Christian. And I've had great care and quick diagnosis since being in his care.
Michelle T. replied:
Mohawk Medical Group - Dr. Del Toro Diaz or her dad, Jorge Del Toro. She is great for younger families, she is family practice and sees kids. Both of them approach medicine as a practice and try to find answers and take time to talk to you when you are there.
Sherry B. replied:
Dr Farr on Brimhall and Calloway and his phys asst Suzie. They take the time to listen to you and your issues.

Dena Barnes, LMFT is a fantastic therapist, if that helps. Really, everyone at The Professional Group is outstanding. I know they have a lot of LGBTQ* clients, but only because I sit in the waiting room a lot. They are all LMFT's, though. I also like Truxtan Psychiatric Group, but I do not know their stance on LQBTQ*.
