Can anyone recommend a good car dealer in the Baltimore area? I'm shopping for cars, and I'm trying to figure out which car dealers are reputable. I'm worried about...

I've had a few great car buying experiences from Apple Ford down in Columbia. The pricing is upfront and I've never felt overly pressured to make a purchase. As an added bonus they do free oil changes for life (yes, even on used cars). Realistically though any place that has "no-haggle pricing" is your best bet. On a side note, I've had both good and bad luck with Carmax - actually bought a vehicle that barely made it off their lot from the one up in White Marsh. Luckily their return policy is easy albeit time consuming.

Bought my wifes car at heritage honda in parkville. The prices they post online are exactly what you pay. Walked in, test drove the one she liked and drove out an hour later. Best car buying experience i have ever had. It took 6 hours of hagggling to get my car from antwerpen and my carmax car in highschool needed a new alternator a week after buying it plus when i washed it i found a bunch of scrapes that were covered with wax instead of actually fixed.

New or used? Not much to worry about new lemons; they often haven't been driven long enough to have any issues that aren't readily apparent on the test drive. Usually nothing to be dishonest about.

Looking for a mom and pop (quite literally) used car dealer that makes their name on reputation and referrals alone? One that doesn't even have a website, because they just never saw the need? Cool with exclusively Toyota products (w/ Scion and Lexus too)? Willing to trek to the 'burbs for an awesome deal? Check out Mr. and Mrs. Simms at Pasadena Motors(410) 255-3112. They have a modest inventory, so call ahead. They buy "totaled" cars at auction, rebuild them, and sell at a discount. No gimmicks. Just a solid deal.

http://www.fightingchance.com/ I had extremely good luck using the pricing reports these guys produce, and paid about $50 over invoice for a car several years ago, and even got them to halve the cost of the extended warranty.

I had really good luck internet shopping for cars. I found the car I wanted first and then sent emails around to all the dealerships that had one asking for their best price. After that I just pitted the dealerships against each other until I got the lowest price. (I bought new so it was easier to compare between cars). Also the best price came from Koons in silver springs 17,200 + tax +title on a mazda 3 hatch (msrp 20,700).
