Any advice on if I should find a real estate agent or look myself for a condo to rent in Bangkok? Looking for a furnished 1 or 2 bedroom, not a studio, near the BTS/MRT,...

I have been in three different condos and I always found each myself. What I found is that an agent is responsible for one area- don't expect an agent to cover the whole city. If he/she offers it, he/she will simply go to one of the websites to find a condo for you. This might bring you the risk of paying commissions to two agents (your agent and the owner's agent - most of the owners here use agents as they have few properties to rent out and they won't spend time dealing with you). 1. Try prakard.com which is the most common real estate website in bkk. 2. Go in and negotiate! There are more condos than actual tenants. You will always find four or five rooms available in one building - let them enter into a bidding war. They need you, you don't need them. 3. Traffic is crazy so find a condo which is close to your work place. Don't just rely on the bts/mrt.
Try www.rentinbangkok.com they are very professional and will help you to find something under budget. Have a look at their site user friendly and most properties are available. Good luck
