The Rug Doctors rented out by Safeway work great and aren't expensive. Plus they clean and disinfect them after each rental so you don't have to worry about cleaning the nasty shit out of them, borrowing one that wasn't cleaned well or leaving the cleaning to a friend that was nice enough to let you borrow theirs.
