Dr. King did mine senior year of dental school. Still passed WREB:-). I had 20/400 in one eye and 20/100 in the other. Now I see 20/20 or better

Dr. King did mine 10 years ago, I am sure by now he is amazing! No regrets here either:)

Hey girl! Dr king at King LASIK is the best!
Patrick B. replied:
I am actually building some surgery centers for Dr. King, he is who you want to go to, one of the best ophthalmologist around. Just tell him Patrick Blair from surgery center services sent you.
Patrick B. replied:
But the best around is Dr. Vance Thompson in Sioux Falls, SD, but im guessing you dont want to travel there to get it done.

I had a great experience at PCLI in Bellevue, in Nov 2009. My regular eye doctor, Mark Balter in Ballard, referred me there. No regrets! Very worthwhile investment and worked for me. Good luck!
LASIK experiences in Austin, TX Hi all!
I am planning on getting a LASIK procedure done, but I am unsure on where to do it. I have visited the Mann Eye center...
Austin_X replied:
Go to Texan Eye and see Dr Tom Walters. I had LASIK done at Mann Eye twice and there were complications due to poor surgical technique that’s caused ongoing issues with epithelial cell growth. They advertise heavily and seem more about making money than providing good care. They’ve also wanted to charge me $500 for follow ups due to their mistakes.

LasikPlus, Dr. Whiteside! He’s phenomenal and the staff is great. Got mine done last year.

have had this come up on other forums. A google search will pull it up. Also search for complications around the flap that is created. PRK takes longer to recover, but doesnt have the issue. I had lasik done at austin eye (shannon wong). No problems and still good 10 years later.

How did they squirt something in your eye without you knowing?

I went to LasikPlus in San Antonio. They have one in Austin as well. Honestly the machine is really doing the work and as long as they have an all laser lasik you should be fine. And most do. I would really look into seeing if you can get your insurance to cover any of the cost. I was able to get 15% covered via EyeMed which isn't a whole lot but something. Lastly, if you can afford it, open a credit card that gives you a points boost for spending a certain amount over 3-4 months. Since it's money you have to spend anyhow you might as well get the points towards a flight or a hotel stay somewhere. Also, good luck!

After 20 years, your eyes fall out.

Nobody. Seriously, if you haven't, spend some time reviewing what happens when lasik goes sideways and what that probability is. Scary shit for what amounts to an elective procedure.

I got mine done at Dell Laser Consultants about 5 years ago, was very organized, well equipped, and great staff.
I'd highly recommend reading up on is the side-effects and complications as a few here have already suggested. I personally had really bad dry eyes for about 2 years afterwards, and had to put in eye drops every 2 hours and every time I woke up at night or in the morning. At this point mine have stabilized and I really only use the drops before bed and when I wake up, but it was pretty bad for quite awhile. Dry eyes are extremely common, and most Lasik surgery centers will downplay it before the surgery. More severe complications as I understand it can be pretty debilitating, although they are rare.
All that said, my dry eyes were the worst side effects of anyone I know, but I still don't regret getting Lasik done. However if I had known before hand what I do now, I would of considered it a bit more carefully.

Me and a friend used LasikPlus on Far West BLVD. Had mine done February of last year, recovery was quick and aside from the occasional dry eye I’m seeing better than 20/20.

Dude, I did a groupon at LVI. All in both eyes was $1800 bucks total all included. 100% would do again

Sharpen Vision Modern LASIK was awesome for me, going on 2 yrs with no issues

Dr Wong @ Eyes of Texas! He's more expensive than most places, but your eyeballs are worth it!

I got lasik recently and I highly recommend Dr. Andreason of Westlake Eye Specialist.

I wouldn’t do it. I went in, and the lasers melted my eyes. Now, I can’t see anything.
In need to get an eye exam. I had LASIK two years ago, and my eyes are diverging a bit. Time to get a regular exam before going back for a touch up. Any recommendations...
