I just moved here from San Francisco, currently staying in F'hain. What I have yet to find is a typical coffee shop where they have large cups of coffee and where I can...

I don't know about the coffee but Cafe Tasso and Shakespeare & Sons are good places to chill for hours.

A bit hipster and expensive, but they have nice cakes :) https://www.facebook.com/sanktoberholz?fref=ts

A few days ago I stumbled into this place. Nothing fancy, but blazing fast internet. http://www.yelp.com/biz/salt-n-sweet-berlin

Large cups of coffee are not really a thing here like they are in SF. I find that Germans prefer to drink espresso in various forms, but some nice coffee shops include A.HORN (Kreuzberg), THE BARN (Pberg) and Poshlust Cafe (Neukölln).

I would also recommend that you search for nice coffee shops and ask for free wifi. A lot of them offer wifi. There is also a place in Wedding called Tassenkuchen (cup cakes): www.tassenkuchen.com

Dada Falafel has fantastic "Italian" hot chocolate -- it's like hot pudding in a cup.

Joshua Thanks, I'll try it next time I'm in Amsterdam. I've only had experience with Boot Koffie in Baarn. And thanks everybody! I've been to Five Elephant and the Barn but never heard of Bonanza or Chapter One. Will definitely have to check them out.
I would like to learn to know Americans in Berlin to improve my English. The easiest and the best way for me would be to find a coffee shop where Americans usually come...

This is a great group of people learning or practicing english. Ranging from doctors, students and retired people from all over the world. It's free and very comfortable. Everyone usually only orders a drink but some will eat too. I was invited a few years ago because I'm a native english speaker and could help with pronunciation or translate when needed. I think it would be great for you Sophie- https://berlinfriendsclub.wordpress.com/
