Harvard Vanguard pediatrics in Peabody. I know where you're coming from. Left Garden City for same reasons 21 years ago and would never recommend them. My daughter is 22 today but almost died of a heart defect at 10 months old.

If you are in need, I recommend the North Shore Community Health Center at 45 Congress St., Salem. They provide low cost Dental and Medical treatment and are open 6 days a week. You can call and get an appointment or just walk in.

We went to Dr. McCollough, he lost my intake and had to do it several times and then got mad at me for taking so much time. Strange cat, ate his lunch on the floor of his office. Just thought he would kill me before too long, and went back to my former primary.

Dr. Townes at the Ipswich Lahey is awesome. She's always on time, no waiting in the waitroom or office forever, and she's so nice, always listens. I've even canceled follow-up appointments because there were absolutely no issues or concerns and she'd just call me that same day to 'check in' real quick. She'll do some obgyn procedures as well. She's great and now she's PCP to half my family.

But before you pick a primary, you may want to check their association. Mine is under the Partners Healthcare Group, which I love. Because I am a cancer survivor I have in network refferrals etc. to world renound Docs at Mass General, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Womens. The other main group in the area is Lahey Hospital Group, which some people prefer. So make sure your medical needs fit the primarys in network association, especially if you don't want extra medical costs going out of network. My disclaimer, I have worked for insurance companys and know that out of network care can cost $$$$$

The doctors at North Shore Physicians group at the Cummings center are really good. I have dr Ireland but other family members have some of the other doctors and we like them all. It is easy to get in for appointments and everyone working there is friendly.
