My wife and I used Mallor Grodner for this, specifically Dustin Plummer. Our total cost was $500 even. Some notes: Depending on your situation, and actual will may or may not really be necessary. In our case, neither my wife nor I own substantial property yet (e.g. a house, land, whatever). So instead we simply used the online beneficiary designation functions with our various banks to indicate where the money there should go, and soon I'll be retitling the car to be in both of our names instead of just mine. Had we needed a true will, I suspect the cost would have been about $1000 instead. The main thing MG did for us was draw up the necessary medical documents, like a HIPAA authorization, living will, and a power of attorney. You'll need to discuss with your partner and/or family what you want to happen to you should you wind up in a coma, vegetative state, and so on.

Mallor Grodner is pretty good for routine non-adversarial work. There are a few other firms/attorneys I can think of who would also provide you with good value. What I might recommend if you can take a Friday afternoon off is going by the free clinic in the courthouse. They don't income screen, and you can get what is effectively a free consult with a civil law attorney. Granted, they mostly deal with poorer folks, so they may not know a lot about complex estate planning, but they can be really helpful as a first step in attorney shopping.

Matt Lloyd is good, and he seems really down to earth. I used to work with his wife, and we hired him for our accident. Very approachable.

Umm they shouldn't refuse her no matter what. But try Monroe hospital if they did. Does she have insurance?

Oh they don't.. Well technically Bloomington Hospital can't refuse any patients especially if they have insurance.
