I forgot about Bean Blossom Animal clinic in Brown County. Very friendly very cheap but you can plan on being there for a while. It is first come first serve, they are extremely busy.
Alexis H. replied:
I absolutely love Town and Country Veterinary Clinic. We take our puppy and cat there, and they are sooo good with them. They know them by name, always check them for everything, and my pup barely even notices when she gets shots. My cat is also a siamese so she is extremely skittish, but they know how to handle her and there is never a problem. I am also in college so price is an issue, but Town and Country is completely affordable and will give you all the knowledge and information you need to make decisions, and they will not push any fees on you that aren't necessary.
Rebecca J. replied:
The vets at College Mall Vet Hospital are genuinely caring and have helped saved the lives of my pets over the last 20 years.
Heather G. replied:
Pets Alive is fantastic for shots and much less expensive! They are always very kind and helpful
Kris A. replied:
Pets alive for shots. I like Bloomfield Vet Clinic, they have btown hours.
Donna W. replied:
Bloomfield Veterinary, off west third st, bloomington. Scott is great and very reasonable priced 8122757501
Betty D. replied:
Pets Alive is great for Spay/Neuter and Vaccinations...............If you need a full service vet check out Arlington Heights Vet on South Walnut.
Anne H. replied:
I've been going to College Mall Vet for years and years - they've been very good to my cats, both for routine shots & such and when they've had more serious/complicated issues. I have not done price comparisons with other vets because I wouldn't switch no matter what, so I don't know if they count as "arm and a leg". Shari Hughes is my primary vet but the others I've seen in recent years have been great as well.
Teri B. replied:
College Mall Veterinarian
Abigail L. replied:
Pets Alive is good for shots and flea meds. Arlington heights is a good vet.
Katy H. replied:
I am the vet at Heal Pet Care. We are in Bloomfield, but well worth the drive. We have several clients that travel from Bloomington. Check us out on Facebook or on our website at www.healpetcare.com.

Pets Alive!
Heather B. replied:
Bloomfield vet on the west side of Bloomington is BY far the cheapest vet in town and the are great with all of my pets. Call for an apt bc they get very busy!
Syndi S. replied:
we love Bloomfield vet they have an office on the west side of Bloomington
Dea S. replied:
If your furry babies don't necessarily like the visit to the vers office, you can work with Dr. Ken Miller. He will come to your home for shots & the basics. You can contact him through Ridgeline Equine Veterinarians. My high anxiety dog loves Dr. Ken.
Sharon B. replied:
Blue Sky. South Walnut across from Bloomington South High School.
Cailey D. replied:
Bloomington vet hospital over on the east side around Mr. Hibachi! Set up an apt with Dr. Medlock:)
Julia C. replied:
Pets alive is best if you are worried about cost..otherwise definitely recommend College Mall Vets. You can get pets immunized or sterilized at Pets Alive and use College Mall Vet for check ups and illness.
Jody V. replied:
I use Pets Alive for shots and BloomingPaws for other veterinary needs.
Dena N. replied:
Bloomington vet hospital on Smith near the mall. If you are a regular patient and need emergency services, they fee lower and they're reasonable on prices anyways. Drs are great.
Deloris F. replied:
My little yorkie goes to town and country here on smith Pike in bloomington. Very good people don't take you for everything you got very caring. Also have grooming there check them out wouldn't take mine any where else t heir phone number is 812 332 1429
Hillary F. replied:
We have multiple cats and dogs so we use Pets Alive for annual boosters and flea/tick control because it is more affordable. For injury/illness we use Arlington Heights, they have onsite emergency after hours care, not all vets in town do this- some will send you to Indy, if that is important make sure you ask at any vet's office you are considering.
DeAnna H. replied:
I take both my huskies to Combs Veternary clinic
Candus H. replied:
Blue Sky vet
Debbie D. replied:
Pets Alive is VERY resonable with vaccines. They will clip toe nails as well.
Amanda H. replied:
Ellettsville veterinary is excellent. If you go in on certain days of the week, the cost of all shots per animal is $30 because you don't have to see the vet. Took my dog there because she was having issues. She had 2 skin infections and a double ear infection. With the cost to see the vet and the 4 medications, it was $90. Excellent and informative vet.
Jessica W. replied:
We love our vets at Town and Country Veterinary Clinic! They are so good with our fur babies.
Darla W. replied:
I love Town and Country Veterinarian. I used to go to Arlington their prices got to high in my opinion.
Jacquelyn C. replied:
You might qualify for the https://www.facebook.com/176667389122374 Monroe County Humane Association"s non-profit clinic for basic care. I love Bedford Animal Hospital. Worth the drive to save the money for great care!

Privileged Critters. Cheaper than the SPCA. And they helped me with Butch when I only had 100 bucks to figure out what was wrong with him. I love them dearly. They also kept a kitten a rescued over night for free and met me halfway to pick him up. They are really awesome. They have a chart up showing their prices are better than the SPCA.
Kelly H. replied:
TLC Snip in Lakeland on Gary Rd. They are less expensive than SPCA.
Monica O. replied:
Privileged Critters!!! They are the best but affordable. I wouldn't trust my babies anywhere else.

There aren't any in Bloomington I don't think but try Arlington Heights. If that doesn't work, try the Angel Vet up north of Martinsville close to Indy.

huge fan of furry friends -- believe your first appointment is free. dr. cody has often done tests himself in-house instead of sending them off to save us money. he's always willing to talk by phone (for free) about follow up questions. (good luck with your cat!)

Hey if you take it to paws alive I think it’s called ? Over by luckys? And tell them it’s a stray they should treat it for free
Kittycatkittttty replied:
Can you describe the symptoms you’re seeing? You can DM if you’d like. Pets Alive can do an FIV/FELV test and basic fecal. Echoing what others said: Furry Friends. Avoid: College Mall & Arlington Heights.
madognyou replied:
We've been very pleased with Furry Friends on the east side. Reasonably priced and very good people.
rollins215 replied:
I’ve been pretty happy with Bloomington Veterinary Hospital on the east side so far. They’ve gotten it right with my cats every time and have been reasonably priced, first visit is free, too.

Bean Blossom animal clinic in Brown county is a bit of a drive but an extremely reliable vet and even more cost effiecent!
geber02 replied:
I used BloomingPaws across from the Humane Society. They were cheaper than the vet I use here at home, but I also wanted a good quality vet that knew how to interact with cats. My cat had fleas, worms, an umbilical hernia, an ear infection, and was underweight when I first went in, and I was very pleased with their care!

Not sure if anyone already said this (I'm not reading 17 posts lol) but Town and Country is great. Dr. Shake is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. I take all 3 of my boys there.

Arlington Vet Hospital is AMAZING! Their staff really care about pets and people.

Also Kaytlyn Rae Black, try omega 3 vitamins. Stanbrough had the same itching scratching issue. It's mostly healed it. If we were more religious with it he probably wouldn't itch at all
I have a large, long haired cat, and I've just discovered that he has some matted fur on his rear end and around where he does all of his business, if you get my drift....
Judy M. replied:
We have a long haired cat with same problem. The vet uses clippers on him when we have him in for anything. In between visits, we have clippers that we use. One person has to hold him by scruff of neck and maybe even towel around body and feet while other person uses clippers. Here's a site about holding:http://m.wikihow.com/Hold-a-Cat-by-the-Scruff
Vet Suggestions Hello!
Short & sweet. New-ish to B-town, recently rescued a cat. Was wondering who you guys recommend for Vets around here.
Thanks!
Malikissa replied:
Bloomington Vet Hospital on Smith. I've been going there for 5 years with my dog and my cat. They're fantastic. And have a separate cat and dog entrance, so your kitty won't be scared by dogs.

College Mall Vet. Dr. Taber is wonderful with our cats!
dontpanicjenny replied:
I love Arlington.
madognyou replied:
Furry Friends is relatively new and great! Highly recommend.
HoosierUsername replied:
I also like Arlington. I used to go to College Mall (good but expensive as someone else mentioned) but I prefer Arlington as I have a very reactive dog and they’ll let you wait in a private room. They got a lot busier after the fire burned down their second location but if you can go first thing in the morning it’s not so bad.

Zilia S. replied:
Sometimes conditions get diagnosed as cancer that are something else. Suzanne Somers (Yes blonde actress, and/but writer of health-related issues) has written a book called, Knockout: interviews with doctors who are curing cancer-- and how to prevent getting it in the first place. I thought it helpful in looking at the ways in which cancer is marketed and framed. The Monroe County Public Library owns the book. From the material-medical standpoint it is helpful to notice how much misinformation is "out there" about conditions diagnosed as cancer. If you are following the medical route, I don't know what the resources are for animals and veterinarians, but it would definitely be worth a little time to do a little research, especially since it appears that the litter mate is displaying similar symptoms. I think that there is a holistic vet in Brown County named Dr. Panzer (or something close to that name). And there are others around who use other modalities for healing animals, including acupuncture.
