EBay has great vintage hoops and fabrics.

I’ve started just using Minwax wood staining pens to give my hoops a more decoration feel to them! It’s an easy thing you can use to make even simple hoops a little more unique

Fellow Canadian here! I order right off the DMC website (for thread), from alibaba (a Chinese wholesale company, remember to read the reviews as it can be hit or miss) or value village! Thrift store have a surprising amount! Walmart carries basic plastic hoops, but I like wood/bamboo so I usually hunt eBay as well!

123 stitch.com for one. They're very common. Google or check the sites in the FAQ.

Not free, but joyfulexpressions.us seems to have a lot of verses annotated with images. Otherwise 123 stitch is great

Hello, All. Where is a good place in the area to find embroidery supplies? I've tried Michael's but their section is Very small.
Donna F. replied:
There is no place. All the local shops have closed and Michaels, AC Moore, etc are a joke regarding needlework. There is a great new shop that has opened in Weaverville (Asheville) called Sassy Jacks Stitchery. They do online ordering, too. That's the best "local" I can recommend. That or drive to Williamsburg, Haus Tirol.

I have had no luck with any local place. My favorite online source is 123 Stitch. http://www.123 stitch.com
