Hi Nessa, I have just gone through this exercise and eventually found someone using Google. They were super nice, fairly priced and would recommend them. These are the people I used. Best of luck. We used Anglo Pacific, and very pleased with service and the ability to get someone on the phone for follow-up and queries, and ensuring all necessary paperwork submitted on both sides of the pond. R/d similar estimate in the end for a half container (though little furniture for us...). Note as well we received five quotes, and then had some leverage to negotiate the initial estimate provided with the two companies we liked in the end. We had half container. http://www.anglopacific.co.uk

I have bought some lovely furniture from Ethan Allen over the 20 years I have been here - all in lighter colored woods/finishes. EA's quality is really good - but their prices aren't cheap. That being said, you get what you pay for - 15-20 years later my stuff still looks almost good as new [but I don't have kids, so that most probably helps with minimizing wear & tear!].

Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel are similarly priced to John Lewis

Bloomigdales, Macy's, Mitchell Gold, Bo Concept. The Shade Store for blinds, drapery. I've also ordered blinds through Smith and Noble. Restoration Hardware's ready made curtains/drapery are ok. Their furniture may look appealing but quality isn't good. For high end, Montage and Showroom (in Boston).
