Neolithic/Stone Age fantasy recommendations? I enjoyed Michelle Paver's Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, a YA series about hunter-gather tribes in prehistoric Europe, and...

Age of Myth, by Michael J Sullivan might be worth looking into. It's the first in either 5 or 6 books that he writing for a new series. The second one comes out next month. The books take place thousands of years before his Riyria books and are about how that world came to be. Really really good read

The first one that comes to mind is Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel. It's been at least 20 years since I've read it, and I don't even know if it's still in print.

Megan Lindholm (better known as Robin Hobb) has a duology set in this period (*The Reindeer People* and *Wolf's Brother*). I didn't like it as much as some of her other books, but may be worth checking out.

Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock.

A small but really neat part of the book American Gods by Gaimen. A tribe with a shaman crossing from East Asia to North America when there was a natural ice bridge. ....was that Neolithic? Or even earlier?

I've not read it but Shaman by Kim Stanley Robinson might be something you'd be interested in. Worth a look anyway.

I've just started it, so can't say how good it is but Bernard Cornwell's Stonehenge seems like something that may interest you.

Chronicles of Ancient Darkness is Paleolithic rather than Neolithic - another one set in the Paleolithic is The Kin by Peter Dickinson. It was written in the 90 s and I don't know that anyone can know for sure how accurate it is since it is set 200 000 years ago, but I found it pretty interesting. I have actually never seen a book set in the Neolithic, now that I think of it.

Wait about five years for me to finish writing my book and try to get it published. Other than that, I got nothin'.

Helliconia Spring by Brian Aldiss, is nominally Sci-fi and does have several sci-fi elements but most of the book reads as fantasy. It starts with hunter-gatherer tribes and follows them as they move out of a harsh ice age. There are two more in the series following the planet as civilisations blossom again before the ice ages starts to return.

I recommend you read the blurb and chapter preview of it first, but you might like Entangled by Graham Hancock. It follows two characters simultaneously in the present day and 25,000 years ago. I flew through it in a matter of days. Dark and tense. Edit: just realised this book is Palaeolithic and not Neolithic though. I'll leave it up just in case.
