I need to get a full knee replacement. Who is a good orthopedic surgeon and is Bozeman Deaconess a good hospital? Also, who is a good knee PT? I'm coming from out of...
Shea S. replied:
ProPhysio has an amazing PT that is sure to help you post surgery. Give them a call 406-388-8118

Dr Gelbke or LeGrand at Bridger Ortho.

I also recommend Jill Sippos, MPT at Pro Physio for PT. She has over 15 years of experience in post-surgical rehab. She is great to work with and has had excellence reviews from patients. 406-388-8118

Martin Gelbke with Bridger orthopedic is wonderful and did a fellowship in joint replacement, I don't know that anyone else in Bozeman has.
Kelsey W. replied:
I am a physical therapist at Advanced Performance and Rehabilitation Services (APRS) and would love to recommend myself or any of our 10 physical therapists. Please check out our Facebook page or website bozemanaprs.com. I would love to answer any questions you may have so please feel free to message me.

I recently had 2 knee surgeries with Dr. Legrand. Love him. Also prefer Shelli Stevenson for PT at Lone Peak Therapy in Belgrade
Diane Y. replied:
Dr. GELBKE at Bridger ortho He is excellent. Dr Gannon did mine but he is retired. But I follow up with Gelbke and like him. I did pt through Lone Peak PT in Belgrade with Josh green. He has gotten me well through 4 surgeries and I wouldn't go anywhere else. He is always learning new things and is very knowledgeable.
Marcy S. replied:

My husband just had his knee done with Dr LeGrand at Bridger Ortho; went great !
Miranda B. replied:
The main two orthopedic offices in Bozeman are Bridger Orthopedics and Alpine Orthopedics. I prefer Bridger and would recommend Dr. LeGrand for knees, although I didn't need surgery on mine. I only needed PT. Bridger is affiliated with Freestone Physical Therapy, which I would also recommend. I've been happy with Bozeman Deaconess, where I've two surgeries, but some outpatient surgeries are done at Rocky Mountain Surgical Center, which I've also been happy with. They're across the street from the hospital and downstairs in the same complex as Bridger Orthopedics. Good luck. I hope it goes well for you.

Not sure about a surgeon....however I have friends that have used Jill Sippos at ProPhysio after surgeries and have had amazing results and were beyond happy with her services and bedside manner....keep in mind you can choose where you would like to do your rehab after surgery......406-388-8118
Interested in hearing people's experience with ORTHOPEDIC SURGEONS in town. Who would you recommend and why?
I, rather unfortunately, need to have reconstructive KNEE...
Angela K. replied:
I didn't have surgery but have been seeing Lone Peak PT for neck pain and it's been really helping me. They are definitely experienced with post surgery patients like you. www.lonepeakpt.com
Katie W. replied:
I had an extensive and devastating acute knee injury that included complete PCL rupture, ACL strain, meniscus tears, capsule rupture, and calf muscle tears. Dr. LeGrand at Bridger Orthopedic was awesome (I went to him for a previous shoulder surgery too). And I second Lone Peak PT. They have multiple locations. I'm not sure where you're located, but I'm in Bozeman and Josh Greene at the Belgrade location was worth the drive out to see for recovery from my knee surgery. Feel free to PM if you have any further questions!
Julie R. replied:
Dr Josh Klatt at Bridger Orthopedics fixed my boyfriend's broken femur in December. (Spiral fracture just above the knee while skiing over Christmas; he's 51 and extremely active - like training for triathlons and a 1/2 Iron Man active.) Klatt is great - very positive and encouraging and does a great job answering questions and listening. He did a great job with the surgery and followups!
Jennifer D. replied:
Dr.Klatt is beyond wonderful, we have seen him for our daughter with pediatric stuff. Dr.LeGrand did a wonderful job on my husband's knee, (he is mid thirties and super active), but stay far far far away from Dr.Gelbke. (All at Bridger).
Kathy K. replied:
My daughter just had a fairly complicated knee surgery with Dr. O'Brien at Alpine. He was great and she is healing amazingly fast!
Ken M. replied:
Go with patellar rather than cadaver graft. (this is what sll vollege and pro sthletes use)For PT, see John Sveen at Advanced Performance Rehab. I am active senior citizen and he did a great job on shoulder rebuild and knee replacement. He will get function back for you.
Cyrina W. replied:
Not sure if he dose knees surgery but Dr Ferrell at Bridger Orthopedic!! 8 years I was in pain with my shoulder and told I was faking my pain doctor after doctor, PT after PT, MRI after MRI and was finally sent to DR Ferrell, he did one more MRI with contrast and found torn rotator cuff, torn bicep, torn ligaments and bone spurs, year after surgery and do much better. The after care was amazing as well!! I was in my 20 s when I hurt my shoulder and 30 s with the surgery was done.
Mack M. replied:
I had several shoulder pain and about a dozen dislocations over about a 6 year period. Every doctor I saw said I was crazy there's nothing wrong. It got so bad it is couldn't sleep without dislocating it. Finally I made an appointment with Jason Lawn and Dr LeGrand at Bridger orthopedics. I needed a rare surgery called a later jet. There are only a few surgeons in the nation capable of this surgery. Dr LeGrand changed my life my surgery was a year ago and I'm been able to do normal things again:) He does do knees and they treated me like a friend and like they really cared about me improving!
Who is the best orthopedic surgeon in town and why?
Heather K. replied:
Depends on what your issue is and what part of the body... I had a SLAP repair on my shoulder... Done by Dr Vinglas at Bridger orthopedic... He did his fellowship in upper body/shoulder... If it had been my knee I would have gone to Dr LeGrande
Amanda M. replied:
Paul J Miller
Linda B. replied:
Dr LeGrand did excellent shoulder surgery on my son last. He's back to snowboarding this season!
Carrie F. replied:
Dr. Vinglas is ANAZING!! Great with adults and children!!! Highly recommend him...he did surgery on our daughter's finger 7 years ago and she is still doing wonderful!

After just having wrist surgery a little over ten days ago, I highly recommend Bridger Orthopedics. I have been really impressed with everyone from their front desk staff, to the PAs, X-ray techs, and I loved my surgeon.
