What’s a good healthy dog food? I swear every time I buy a bag you hear on the news that it’s poisoning dogs? My vet recommended science diet? We had them on Blue...
Rhonda A. replied:
No haters please. But I have always fed Purina Lamb and Rice. It was the ONLY dog food that wasn’t recalled back a few years ago for dog food processed in China (I think) that was killing our pets. I showed JR’s for years in the Midwest Circuit and it was known as a good food. I have two JR’s that are 16 1/2 years old and act like they are 2!!! Still hunting, jumping, swimming and crazy. My vet is amazed!!! From two different breedings so it’s not genetics. Don’t know, but always worked for me and my pups. Absolutely NO human food. Only fresh knuckle bones to chew on now and then.
Carlyn M. replied:
Go to Bridger Feeds, aka Bridger Nutrition. They sell many high quality foods! We personally feed our pets Solid Gold brand. Can’t find good food at the grocery for pets.

I've used Pure Balance grain free from Walmart and my pooches loved it.

Go to Planet Paws Facebook page to watch the video. 15 January at 08:24 · Since I got on my soapbox yesterday in my live video about how medical grade essential oils don’t cause diseases like cancer... but maybe you should take a closer look at your dog’s food instead... here’s a video from Planet Paws that, although a bit extreme, gives you a bit more info. Know what you are feeding your animals!

I have owned dogs for 20 years, for the last 4 years, I have fed my 2 dogs Fromms. I love this product - they have never had a recall, 1 st ingredients is protein - usually 24%, my dogs love it, there stool is always healthy, and so are my dogs. They carry it at Gee-O-Dee there in Bozeman. Also, Fromms has a program - buy 12 bags get one free, just save the UPC code. https://frommfamily.com/
I can totally hook you up with amazing dog food. It’s NEVER been recalled and we only use fresh ingredients that are top of the line. No high allergen ingredients either like corn, soy, or wheat! It’s full of antioxidants, probiotics and lots of other goodness. I’d be happy to send you a sample if you want to try it out! Www.hardypup.com
Lezlie N. replied:
Go to www.dogfoodadvisor.com. They test just about every brand out there and rank them. They show number of recalls, problems, etc. Vets get a kick back on Science Diet which is loaded with corn. I've fed mine Blackwood based on dogfood advisor recommendations. I'm in Livingston and get it at Town & Country, so I don't know if Bozo/Belgrade T&C carries it. High quality at a reasonable price (for comparable quality).
Amanda D. replied:
Both are horrible brands. I suggest you go into Bridger Animal Nutrition and have a talk with Libby (the owner) or Kris (the manager). It’s really going to depend on your budget and needs for your dog. I am in the pet industry and have researched foods to death. My favorite is Acana for dry food. Orijen and Now are great brands as well. There is also a website called Dogfoodadvisor.com that you can see how each brand is rated based off of their ingredients.
What does everyone pay for their website and who do you use? Why do you like them? In need of a better company to handle our site... (for a vet clinic)

yes, the city requires licensing and proof of rabies vaccination. https://www.bozeman.net/government/finance/licenses-and-permits/pet-licensing . If you have a current rabies certificate from your last vet, the city will accept that. No other vaccinations are required, so don't be pressured into doing additional vax your dog may not need.
