Smith Chiropractic behind Outback Steakhouse in East Bremerton. I'm NOT a fan of adjustments. They are the only providers of chiropractic care I'll ever go to. They won't make you come in for adjustments for months and months. Their whole goal is to figure out what the problem is and get you better. If they can't fix the problem, they'll refer you to an orthopedic specialist or whatever type of provider needed for your issue. They have a physical therapy room where they can show you exercises to do at home to keep you from needing to get adjusted. They're NOT all about the money and tricking you into coming in for repeat visits and never actually fixing the problem. By far, the best chiropractors anywhere!

I had a great experience with Dr. Hillers at Alpine Chiro off of Wheaton Way (just behind KFC). I came in after a car accident and he was very patient, listening to all the issues I was having and working through questions to properly diagnose me. His front desk staff is also helpful and they were great in doing 3rd party billing with me, walking me through how it worked and letting me know what my rights were as a patient. Dr. Hillers did one initial set of x-rays, showed me where some issues were and how things *should* look, and then we discussed my treatment options. It was never pushy, it never felt like he was trying to sell me something, and he always had my care first in his mind. And once I recovered it was he that suggested I graduate from treatment, he never tried to keep me there longer than I needed to just to retain a customer. If I ever have problems in the future I will be going back to him. That said, I had an awful experience at Action Chiro in Port Orchard off of Tremont. They had a Valpak special and I had been having some back pain, so I went in. The way people were going in and out while I was waiting, I thought I was at a tanning salon. You know the expression "move them through like cattle"? It felt just like that. The doctor ran my insurance, insisted on a bunch of x-rays, and before I knew it my $19.99 initial visit with x-rays turned in to a $350 bill after insurance. They did the initial adjustment and made a second appointment to discuss my treatment options. Said they needed the doctor to review them before discussing plans. Well, first I'm not sure why they were adjusting me if the doctor hadn't reviewed my chart, and second I realized it was just a ploy to get you in so you don't have initial sticker shock. I wound up in way more pain that I was initially from that first adjustment, and had to suffer for three days until my next appointment. There they tried to sell me a $2,000 plan that would cover 6months of visits. I wound up leaving in tears because I was in pain, I was overwhelmed, and felt like I was taken advantage of having spent $350 initially for xrays for absolutely nothing because I couldn't afford to be treated by them. I suppose it's true - when you see those Valpak coupon and they seem too good to be true they likely are!

Dr Smith uses Active Release Technique....a combination of physical therapy...acupressure...and chiropractic. 30 minutes instead of a 5 minute rack em crackem...send you on your way. Ultimately....they are kind...thorough...friendly....and professional. I tried to leave them once for convenience (closer to work) the result was horrible!!

Smith Chiropractic for sure! I'm very hesitant to have adjustments done. I like that they're not like other chiropractors in that they aren't all about keeping you coming back in. If what you need is a chiropractor, they'll do what they can for you, whether that be adjustments or using more of a physical therapy approach. If they think you need an orthopedic physician, they'll refer you in that direction. Definitely not your conventional chiropractor/snake oil salesman.

Yes! I've gone to Smith Chiropractic and Sports Rehab for 8+ years (on Wheaton Way behind the Outback). We have referred dozens of people to them over the years who have all been very happy as well. They offer a very different type of treatment called Active Release Technique. They've helped me with everything from headaches to healing nerve damage to pregnancy aches and pains (including pregnancy "carpal tunnel" which isn't carpal tunnel at all) and a non-surgical option for a ganglion cyst. I highly highly recommend them.

I almost went to Smith but glad we went smaller, a lot more personal attention. Not that I am saying Smith doesn't have that. It's good to hear that about Smith. If we ever needed someone new. And for me who pays cash Alpine Chiropractic was like $10 cheaper for each visit and about $30 cheaper for initial visit. Dr. Hillers even spent about 40 minutes with us, free consultation. That was impressive to David and I.

Since we are on the subject of great doctors, I wanted to mention that we have an awesome doctor in Manette... She is a naturopath but also a registered nurse and she aims to bridge the gap between naturopathic care and western medicine. Best doctor I've ever had. Every appointment is an hour and she's covered by my insurance. She owns Kitsap Clinic of Natural Medicine on Scott Ave below Rejuv. She and Smith Chiropractic have greatly improved my health and life!!

I can also attest to how wonderful Dr Barkshire is.

Don't do chiropractic....the same thing happened to be 2 years ago with a herniated disc and pinched sciatic nerve. I literally could not move. Chiropractic care made me worse.
