There is a really good group on facebook. Its called Living with pots - alternative and natural. I think a lot of the girls on it come from Australia. The site is very useful so I'd suggest you join this group and ask the question. I've written a blog if your interested as I'm better now. It might or might not help you. It's http/lynne.campbell@blogspot.com

Jess, mine is here in Lansing but she is WONDERFUL and did a great job with Jordan. Has been our pediatrician for over 20 years. She actually monitored Jordan's seizures and meds and didn't just pass us off to the specialist everytime we needed something. Always called us personnally when there was an issue. absolutely Love her. Dr Mary Mora with Capital Area Peds.
Mackenzie S. replied:
Dr. Kottke. He was Keith's doctor and now Tucker's.

I have heard through the Dinet website that there is an autonomic specialist at the Mayo clinic in Arizona. I don't know if he is an cardiologist or a neurologist but if you go look at past postings in the Forum at www.dinet.org you might be able to find his name.
Theresa S. replied:
The doctor at the Mayo Clinic is a neurologist...Dr. Brent Goodman. I finally saw him in August and got diagnosised.

Here is a link of doctors I have found. This website has been very useful to me. http://www.dinet.org/physicians.htm
Nina B. replied:
I definitely recommend the Mayo Clinic as well. That is where my sister and I were both diagnosed. Salt and water intake is vital to dealing with POTS. I know this sounds crazy but pedialyte is amazing! It is gatorade for babies and it really helps with my POTS.

Is there anyone in the Southwest (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, or Florida) are who knows of a good dysautonomia doctor who takes Humana????
Janet W. replied:
Hi Damita - I live in northwest Florida - have no idea of docs in our area (other than the docs listed on www.dinet.org) - have not been to any of them (there are only 2, and one of them is unavailable as I have heard). I'm sure there may be docs out there, but they will be hard to find. Let me know if you find one. I have not been diagnosed so far because the docs I've been to at the Eglin AFB are incompetent and don't even know what POTS is.

Zhenya S. replied:
Stephanie Young is an obgyn she is at Brighton U of M We really liked her and if we have another baby we will go back to her I've met 3 out of the 4 doctors at Brighton and they all were very nice
Melody W. replied:
I didn't have a good experience with Dr. Young. She is definitely smart but was very cold and emotionally disconnected. I see the midwife at the u of m Brighton clinic. If I have to see an OB I would choose Dr. Curran. I have UofM Premier Care insurance if you have any questions.

Marcia G. replied:
Let me dig out the number for Wheelchair Assistance/Cab service. They were very reasonably priced and may even take some insurances. You have to make sure when you use these services that they are 'bedside to bedside' which means they won't just dump them off at the front door. They will actually escort them in. Give me a few minutes and I'll email you the number.
Marcia G. replied:
Just sent you some numbers. Hope it helps! I included the TriCounty Office on Aging because they are the BEST resource for anything you may need.
